• Henry didn't utter a word from the school to the hospital. He kept looking out the window, rubbing his small backpack in his hand, making a creaking sound all the way. Every move he made tugged at Marcus's heart, causing him intense pain.
• "Daddy!" Henry turned his head to look at Marcus. There was no trace of a smile on his face; he was deadly serious. "Are you going to marry her?"
• Marcus shook his head without hesitation. Once he made a decision, he rarely went back on it. Since he had decided not to marry Crystal, he wouldn't, even if she was pregnant. It wouldn't change his decision.
