• Toys... Ah, that's what they were talking about. It was like being in a very expensive sex shop, only in the basement of our house. And they told me they were going to make it a man's den, which it was. It took them at least a month to set up the basement, and they did all the repairs with their own hands to their own taste. I felt like I was in my own branch of an expensive nightclub, only I'd been brought here on an early weekend morning. Neon lights stretched around the perimeter of the room, soft lilac light streaming across the floor, bulbs blazing overhead. In the center was a round bed. Extravagant and impractical - Aaron's style. Along one wall were built-in shelves, also backlit, each with some sort of appliance on it. I looked at them with interest and excitement.
