Chapter 13 Tell Him Jonathan Did It
- After knowing we were going to have a talk with the guys from Class One, Rosalie insisted on going with us. Her following us made John awkward, and he didn’t say anything along the way.
- Class One was the class of elites, though all of them were nerds. If the rumors were right, they couldn’t even find a place to settle on the island, and all they could do was run around with their resources, worried someone might attack them for it.
- John told me they’d be meeting with Harry this very afternoon at the hill where we cooked the rabbits, so I deduced that they’d be nearby.
- I thought it’d be hard to find them, but when I arrived at the hill, I laughed. Wow, they’re already here? Are they this worried about losing a chance to negotiate with Harry?
- There were five boys and two girls there. All of them looked soft-spoken, and all of them were wearing thick glasses. When they saw us appearing, they quickly defended their resources, and it piqued my attention. When I looked at what they had, I got jealous.
- They had instant noodles, spam, and even cookies! “Where did you get all these?” I gasped.
- These guys looked reserved, but eventually, their leader nudged his glasses. “We got this from the vending machine that drifted along with us.”
- That was shocking. “That big piece of junk can float?”
- “The ship might have been sinking, but there was a seventy-five degree tilt, and the flooding wasn’t that serious on our side, so we kept pouring the water out to keep the ship—”
- “Alright, stop talking. Not that I can understand anyway.”
- I went closer to the food, looking interested, then the leader told me politely, “Please stay away from us. We have a friend who will be coming soon.”
- “Piss off!” I gave him a backhand slap, sending him rolling on the ground.
- Class One’s students trembled in fear, and this guy pushed his glasses. “Why did you do that? Are you trying to take our resources away?”
- “Oh, these are yours?”
- “They drifted here with us!”
- “Even so, it belongs to the vending machine’s owner, so now nobody owns them.” I shrugged. “Takers keepers.”
- “Why you…” His face turned red from anger.
- “What’s your name?” I asked nonchalantly.
- “Gordon Lane!”
- “Ah, so you’re the top student of our school since the first day, huh? You guys want to ally with Harry?”
- He gasped. “How did you know about that?”
- I didn’t answer his question. “It’s useless allying yourself with him. My friend here just escaped from their jaws. Tell them what Harry’s planning, John.”
- “Lockwood said he’s going to enslave the guys and make the girls his f*ckdolls! And you guys will be food once you outlive your usefulness!” John said loudly.
- Everyone from Class One was shocked to hear that.
- “Hey, guys, take whatever you can! Aim for the cookies and spam! They’re small, but they fill you up easily. The instant noodles are hard to take, so avoid that!” I told the others to take the food, and Rosalie quickly obliged.
- Gordon panicked, and he wanted to stop us, but I swung the switchblade before him. That managed to freeze him in place.
- After everyone had taken what they could, I said coldly, “There’s half of your supplies left. I owe you one, and I’ll pay it off someday. A piece of advice for you all—don’t ask Harry for help. Take your supplies and hide. Get strong in the meantime. If Harry comes to you, tell them Jonathan did it.” I took some food, leaving one hand free to hold my switchblade in case someone ambushed me.
- However, everyone from Class One only sat frozen in place. After I got far enough, I turned back to them. “If you guys can’t even hurt someone, you won’t survive here.”
- We left them to their devices after that. After coming back to the cave, Rosalie happily munched on the cookies, while John gulped some soda. Then, Rosalie chided, “Don’t guzzle everything down, fatty!”
- John jolted. “O-Okay,” he whispered. Not wanting to upset Rosalie, he only took a small amount of food to consume.
- I didn’t object to that, for I knew he was too fat, and he’d be eating through our supplies if he did not control his appetite. After we were done eating our share, we made an inventory and noted that there were fifteen packs of cookies and twenty pieces of spam as well as sausages. “This should last us three days if we go on rations.”
- Rosalie stared at me. “What happened to your face? Where are your pockmarks?”
- “Don’t divert the subject. Our focus now is to get our hands on a long-term food source.”
- Melody nodded. “True. This kind of chance won’t happen often. What do you have in mind?”
- “We have a lake and the sea around us, but fishing for food is impractical, and staying in one place for too long will get us exposed. But I really want to do it this way. The waters are natural food sources.”
- John volunteered himself. “I know how to do it!”
- However, Rosalie dismissed him. “If you can’t catch any fish, I’ll slaughter you, fatty!”
- “I can do it! My family works as fishermen, and I learned a lot from them. All I need is time. Give me a few hours, and I guarantee we’ll have food supply in no time! But I need your switchblade, Jonathan.”
- “You’d better pull it off,” Rosalie sneered.
- “If I pull it off, can you call me John instead of fatty?” John whispered.
- “Don’t even think about it!”
- John quieted down, then he stood up. “I’ll get at it right away. It’s the least I can do after you saved me.” After that, he borrowed my switchblade and went out.
- I didn’t know what he wanted to do, but I trusted my friend to pull it off.
- Everyone went to sleep after the meal to conserve energy, while I sat on the haystack and cultivated The Path of Solar Fire.
- This was some magical stuff, and I was just starting to train in it. Strictly speaking, I wasn’t even a first stage cultivator, and I knew my skills would see a huge jump if I managed to complete the first stage training.
- The Path of Solar Fire was a technique that utilized the body’s Solar Force. True to its name, the more I cultivated, the hotter I became, and my mouth started becoming parched.
- Suddenly, someone patted my shoulder, shocking me. My energy flow was disrupted, and the feedback was painful. That was bound to happen if someone interrupted me while I was cultivating. When I opened my eyes, I realized it was almost dark, and standing before me was none other than Melody.
- She smiled and pointed at my pants. “What are you doing?”
- I looked down, and all of a sudden, everything turned awkward. So Solar Force’s activation also gets you hard, huh? I was scrambling for an explanation, but right at that moment, Naomi and Rosalie came in as well.
- I was worried they might see my boner, but Melody suddenly held me in her arms and stuck to me tightly, covering my boner from the girls’ sights. She yawned. “It’s late, so go to sleep, everyone. Jonathan will still be holding me tonight. You girls are fine with that, aren’t you?”
