Chapter 21
- Reid bolted upright when his phone rang. He grasped at the table a few times before he opened his eyes and squinted at the clock. Three o’clock? He fumbled the phone to his ear. “Lo?”
- “There’s a fifth one.”
- His whole body was suddenly awake and alert. “Fuck. Where?” He leaned over, flipping on the light and grabbed the pen. Brent mumbled the address. “Want me to pick you up?” He rubbed a hand over his eyes as he nodded. “Be there in fifteen.” Hanging up, he sat there for a moment. A fifth? “Fuck!” He’d really wanted to think it was over when the account was closed.
