Chapter 7 Dark Night Agent
- "Madam, I have sent people to the old city area on Garden Road overnight, but after searching all night, we still haven't found the woman in the photo," Butler Li replied.
- Ding Ningqiu snorted coldly and disdainfully stared at Butler Li, saying, "I remember overhearing her talking to someone in a low voice before. I don't know who she was talking to, but it seemed like she was talking about some plan B and Gray Hawk. It's like something out of a 007 movie. Maybe she's a hired assassin, which is why you couldn't find her."
- Ding Ningqiu knew Cold Moon's abilities better than anyone else. She was the most agile and had the strongest counter-surveillance skills in the organization. She could be alerted by any slight movement. It was impossible for Butler Li and his group of ordinary people to find her.
- Ding Ningqiu's words immediately caught Butler Li's attention. "Madam, are you saying that woman is a trained assassin?"
- "Probably," Ding Ningqiu pretended to ponder and said to Butler Li, "Assassins in movies are very vigilant. It won't be easy for you to get close to her. In my opinion, arrange a sniper for long-range shooting. She won't be able to escape."
- "Madam seems to know a lot about the woman in the photo?" Butler Li looked at Ding Ningqiu with a puzzled expression.
- Ding Ningqiu paused for a moment but remained composed. "Didn't I tell you before? I used to work with her as colleagues. We were both waitresses at the Jiangling Hotel. We saw each other often, so naturally, I know a bit more about her."
- After speaking, she coldly stared at Butler Li again. "From what I hear, it seems like you suspect me?"
- "I wouldn't dare," Butler Li bowed slightly. "I will make arrangements tonight."
- "Kill the two children who are with that woman as well. Cut the grass and remove the roots. We can't leave any potential trouble. If those two children grow up and know too much, they might come back for revenge, which would be troublesome. After all, we can't be on guard forever," Ding Ningqiu said.
- "Yes, Madam."
- Even in the grand villa, Ding Ningqiu was not idle. Besides indulging in online shopping, she was also enthusiastic about buying companies and trading stocks. She would do anything that made money.
- Night fell.
- Darkness spread recklessly, devouring everything.
- A black van drove on a rugged road and stopped in front of the gate of an abandoned factory.
- The driver got out of the car and then returned to it. The iron gate opened, and the black van drove into the factory yard.
- The car door opened, and five or six burly men got out, carrying two large boxes, and walked into the abandoned factory. No one noticed the figure crouched on the roof of the van.
- The group of people arrived inside the factory where candlelight flickered, and another group of people was already waiting.
- "Sanmao, here's what you wanted." The leading man raised his hand, and his two subordinates brought out the two boxes.
- Sanmao, the man's nickname, threw his cigarette on the ground and stepped on it with his foot. Then he walked over and squatted down to open the boxes.
- His subordinates held flashlights to illuminate for him.
- The boxes were filled with bags of powder. Sanmao opened one of the bags, pinched a bit, and sniffed it in front of his nose before standing up. "The goods are fine, give me the money."
- As the two groups were about to make the transaction, a figure leaped down from the factory's beam like a cat in the night, agile and swift.
- "Who is it?"
- The dozen or so people in the factory immediately became tense, aiming their guns at the figure in the moonlit night.
- The dark clouds in the sky gradually dispersed, and moonlight poured down. Everyone finally saw clearly that it was a young woman in a black leather jacket, with a curvaceous figure that was captivating.
- Looking up at her curvaceous figure, her long hair cascading down, and a black triangular mask covering half of her face, she seemed like a mysterious enchantress.
- "Whoever she is, kill her!"
- Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
- Gunshots rang out in the abandoned factory, but the woman in the black leather jacket was too agile in the darkness, swiftly evading the bullets like a monster.
- "Damn, have we encountered a ghost?" Sanmao spat and held his gun, cautiously looking around, trying to find the young woman who had disappeared in the dark.
- "Not good, it's White Moonlight!" someone shouted.
- White Moonlight was Cold Moon's alias, and drug dealers were not afraid of the police, but they would definitely fear White Moonlight.
- As soon as they heard the name White Moonlight, Sanmao's scalp tingled.
- "Stop looking, let's retreat!" Sanmao shouted, about to run, but suddenly felt a sharp pain in his leg, causing him to kneel on the ground.
- And in his ears, the sound of sirens could be heard...
- The police loaded everyone onto the police car. A middle-aged man got out of the car and walked up to Cold Moon with a kind gaze. "You did well this time. As your mentor, I have regained some face. I can go back and brag to Old Xu and the others."
- The middle-aged man who spoke was Cold Moon's mentor, Zhang Xu, also known as Old Zhang, and also Cold Moon's superior.
- Cold Moon took off her mask and looked at Zhang Xu with clear eyes. "Master, now that the mission is completed, can I apply for a promotion? I have accumulated quite a few merits over the years. It's time to let the organization know and reward me."
- Zhang Xu smiled and looked at Cold Moon. "With your status, whether you get promoted or not, what difference does it make to you? Is there anyone who dares to bully you?"
- "It's not the same," Cold Moon crossed her arms and looked at Zhang Xu. "I have achieved something, so I should be rewarded. Master, you haven't applied for any rewards for me in a long time. Are you still my true mentor?"
- "Alright, alright, I'll grant your request this time." Zhang Xu smiled and said, "You're right. You've achieved a lot over the years, and it's time to inform the organization and give you some rewards."
- "Come on, a man's word is as good as gold. Once spoken, it's hard to take back," Cold Moon held out her fist.
- Zhang Xu smiled and also extended his fist, gently tapping Cold Moon's fist, and softly said, "Now that the mission is completed, you should hurry back. Xiaoting and Xiaohan are still at home. Go back and take care of them."
- Cold Moon nodded, bid farewell to Zhang Xu, and got into the police car.
- After returning from the police station, Cold Moon walked alone on the road. The mission was completed, so there was no need to continue lurking. Cold Moon planned to take Xiaoting and Xiaohan back home.
- Late at night, the remaining crescent moon slowly walked with small steps in the sky, casting Cold Moon's shadow longer and longer.
- On a loft two hundred meters away, a sniper aimed at Cold Moon. With each step Cold Moon took, the sniper subtly adjusted the gun barrel.
- He was waiting for the right moment to shoot, ensuring a fatal shot so that he would have enough time to escape from the scene without leaving any traces.
