Chapter 397 Something's Going On

• The cooperation agreement between Janet, Donahuetel, and Nigel was still in the works, but some confirmed matters have already been set in motion. Janet bad her hustle full with things that required her personal attention and follow–up. As a result, the lights at the Green Building were burning bright tonight. The sorters of the working group were all gathered in a large conference room, including Janet herself. She didn’t put on airs and preferred to sit and work alongside her team for more efficient communication. After more than three hours of intense focus, Janet stood up and stretched. Glancing at her watch, she saw that it was already half past nine. The staff at their desks all looked exhausted. Janet beckoned to Marco and told him to order some food.
• As Marco was about to leave to carry out her orders, the dedicated line to the front desk suddenly rang. Marco answered the phone and heard a formulaic female voice on the other end. “Mr. Webster’s assistant from the Webster Group has brought supper. Shall I send him Marco paused, puzzled. How did Mr. Webster know they were working overtime? He told her to hold on for a moment before turning to Janet. “Alfred is downstairs. He says he’s ordered supper for everyone.”
