• Inhaling deeply, I stood up and decided to try on the dress. As I slipped it over my head, the fabric hugged my curves perfectly, making me feel a little more like myself again. I put on the shoes that came with it before standing in front of the mirror. Staring at the mirror, I realized I looked so different in the dress. One wouldn’t know I was once a slave and had gone through a lot.
