Chapter 2 Black wedding

  • The wedding time was midnight.
  • Grace, dressed in a black wedding dress, walked step by step to the mourning hall to the grave funeral music, with Caleb's deadee in her arms.
  • Without company and blessing, she was like a heroine in a ghost movie, sad and pitiful.
  • But she was not afraid at all. She knew very well that in this world, people's hearts were much more terrible than ghosts.
  • She huddled herself up in the corner, staring at the photo in Caleb's mourning hall, and suddenly a lump came into her throat.
  • She knew why Carl hated her so much. Although Caleb was his youngest uncle, he was about the same age as him. The two grew up together and were close relatives and loved. The reason why Caleb became a fool was that when he was young, he got an electric shock and hurt his brain in order to save Carl.
  • Over the years, Carl has protected Caleb so well that outsiders could not touch him at all.
  • Until Caleb met Grace...
  • 'Grace, your ability to play self pity is really first-class.'
  • Carl's voice came from behind by surprise. Grace straightened up and turned suddenly, only to see a large group of reporters holding cameras follow behind him.
  • The reporters swarmed into and countless flashlights aimed at her face, shooting indiscriminately.
  • The laughter, abuse and humiliation would swallow her up alive.
  • She tried to hide, covering her face with her hands.
  • However, he gave a sneer and kicked her hard in the knee. She lost her balance and knelt heavily in front of the mourning hall of Caleb.
  • 'Kowtow and apologize.' His cold voice chilled her all over.
  • He insisted on humiliating her in this way. He insisted on making all the people in Romantic city spurn her and making her a woman of loose morals.
  • But what did she do wrong?
  • She held her head high and looked at the cool and mean face. Her face looked unbending and she says, 'Carl, the biggest mistake I have made is to fall in love with you.'
  • The crowd was shocked and the cameras aimed at Carl.
  • Carl's pretty eyes slightly narrowed and stared at her, he unhurriedly took out a photo and waved it in front of her.
  • The picture showed Lily wearing an oxygen mask in a strange ward.
  • She understood all the threats in his eyes.
  • She bit her lips and stared at him. Suddenly she bent down and knocked her head heavily on the ground.
  • 'I'm sorry. I was wrong. I shouldn't have killed Caleb.'
  • 'I was wrong...'
  • 'I am the murderer...'
  • 'I am heinous, my crime deserves a myriad deaths...'
  • She begged for mercy again and again, and her forehead was broken and bleeding.
  • The reporters broadcast live, and the whole Romantic city was talking about Grace, the vicious murderer at midnight.
  • Carl nodded with satisfaction, looked down at Grace, who was covered in blood kneeling on the ground, and opened his thin lips to say, 'Very well, since you have admitted your mistake, now go to a mental hospital and have a good recuperation for a few years. I think you are no longer conscious.'
  • As he finished speaking, two bodyguards rushed forward to grab her and sent her to a mental hospital directly.
  • She didn't struggle any more, but when she passed by him, she suddenly stopped, stared at him sadly and asked, 'Carl, have you loved me?'
  • She just wanted to know whether she had been wishful thinking in the past five years.
  • Carl laughed like he heard the funniest joke in the world: 'Grace, you are really crazy. Do you think I will fall in love with my aunt?'
  • Aunt?
  • Ok, well.
  • Grace's heart was scarred and battered, and a burst of pain tore her heart apart.
  • But she wiped the blood from her face and grinned: 'Then Carl, goodbye.'
  • But she seemed to laugh so hard that the wound on her face was so painful that she was going to cry.
