Chapter 7
- Brian's Pov
- The engagement party was held here in my parent’s mansion and everything have all been prepared and guests have been invited as well: My business clients, family relatives and loved one as well as well wishers weren’t left out.
- It was my idea to have the engagement party in the Lincoln’s mansion. The party is in a grand celebration with reporters and secret admires wanting to see my wife to be.
- The media or anyone didn’t know the lady I was getting engaged to and it the only they’re here especially the media.
- And here I am waiting for her to walk through the door so we can get engaged and be called my fiancee.
- “Why are you so eager on her arrival?” Aaron asked but in a low voice from behind which sounded like he was taunting me.
- I twirl around to see him grinning mischievously, “He is so at it again,” I mused.
- “Fuck off Aaron, I don’t have your time now,” I replied in a whisper as he walks closer.
- “That’s so rude of you big brother but anyways, don’t miss her much because she is gonna be here soon so stand tight and keep up with the act.” He responded and left in a hurry before I could even give him a befitting reply.
- “Aaron, once I get hold of you.” I muttered. He knows too much which he is using now against me, he’s gonna get it from me but tonight I wanna get engage to an angel and for that I need to act cool in front of everyone present as a blind man most especially the medias.
- “Son, they’re on their way, are you set and ready?” Dad uttered outta the blue as he walked towards me.
- “Yes father,” I answered.
- “Make sure everything you’re going isn’t gonna create doubts to anyone about you not being blind, okay?” He continued.
- “Sure sir, I won’t make any mistake in that aspect. Thank you.” I responded.
- “Good work son, she’s gonna be yours and I’m sure you both will grow and make up a wonderful couple together.” He stated proudly patting me in the back.
- “That’s what I have always wanted all this while, to settle down with a life partner that our love will be forever.” I confessed.
- “You've my boy, she’s the perfect one.” He said with a chuckle and left.

- It was almost 8 pm which means the engagement is gonna start anytime soon but my fiancee to be and her parents are still yet to arrive.
- "Mr Lincoln when is the engagement starting?" Mr Simon, one of my business client who I'm currently striking a billion dollar deal asked.
- "I'm sorry Mr Simon, they're on their way, they got caught up on something but they're on their way now." I uttered having no choice but to say it that way not to get him pissed off.
- "Okay, If you say so..." He replied.
- "About the business deal when do you suggest is the best time to sign the document." I asked.
- "Well... I was hoping..." He was about giving back a reply when a loud noise from the main door to the party stopped him.
- "What's wrong Mr Simon?" I asked putting on the act as being blind.
- "I don't know as well but it looks like the noise is coming from the reporters outside." He suggested.
- I was eye roaming for Aaron to go find out what the commotion is all about. And in few seconds, I saw him looking out to the door before turning back and that's when I exchange glare with him giving him a signal to check what's going on.
- "What could be wrong now?" I thought as Aaron head outside.
- Chloe's Pov
- "Please darling, make sure to put on your best smile out there, okay?" Mum uttered. She has been saying that for like five good times, she's scared I'll show to everyone that my relationship with Brian isn't based on love and will probably ruin everything for both families.
- In as much as nothing will ever happen between Brian and I that's gonna turn out to be love, I would never think of disgracing both parties as long as no one gets to piss me off.
- "As you wish mum," I answered.
- "We're gonna come out now, please conduct yourselves." Dad stated as one of the bodyguards open the car door and he got out.
- "You can do this baby, you just need to walk outside and put your best smile also don't reply to any of the reporters questions." Mum instructed and I nod my head as we both came outta the car as flashes of camera light was clicking none stop.
- "Goodness, so many social media people." I thought as they kept taking my pictures and asking series of questions.
- "How did you and Mr. Brian meet, How long is your relationship with Mr. Brian, Why did you still agree to marry the country man when he has gone blind now which there are other men outside to accept than marry a blind man..." They kept questioning on and on.
- "This way madams" One of the bodyguards uttered.
- And just when dad, mum and I were about going inside the mansion, a couple who look so beautiful walked out along with Aaron.
- Who are they and why are they walking towards us? I thought before asking mum who was right next to me.
- "Who are those people smiling to us and why's Aaron, my husband to be brother with them?" I asked.
- "They're your husband to be parents and that's their son also, Aaron." She replied smiling wildly as she walked faster to catch up with them.
- "I should have thought as much, they're good looking." I mouthed to myself.
- "What took you all to get here?" Brian mum, looking so beautiful in her red long dress asked my mum while dad exchange pleasantries with Brian's dad.
- "We're making your baby girl look like an angel for your son of course," Mum replied to her and they both chuckled.
- "Mum is really something else!" I murmured to myself.
- "Welcome honey," Brian's mum uttered touching my cheeks.
- "Good evening ma," I uttered politely.
- "Good evening darling, you're the most beautiful angel among us tonight." She said smiling broadly to me.
- "Thank you ma," I replied.
- "You deserve that honey," She stated holding my hand as dad and Brian's dad, who was dressed in a silver-like suit uttered to us, "Shall we all head in fully and start the engagement?"
- "Of course," His wife responded as we walked into the hall where the engagement is being held as I was praying silently within me on how I was gonna start a new life with a life partner I don't know so much about.
