Chapter 34

• Bella's POV
• I can't shake the discomfort that lingers after the fight with Jameson over the phone. His voice, the frustration, and disappointment in his tone keep replaying in my head, even when I intentionally try not to think about it.
• Every time I close my eyes, I see his face, and all I want is to be with him, to make things right. But the more I think about it, the more tangled it all seems. His explanation as to why he dropped the case wasn't enough. I need more answers. It's already driving me crazy that I haven't gotten them.
