Chapter 3 Not Recognizing Her
- This woman’s body was totally his type.
- The sound of Ling Yao’s rough and heavy breathing fell upon her ear, “Tell me, what’s your name?”
- Li Xinyu’s mind had been tensed and wound up, until she was dumbstruck by his words. Then she simply stared wide eyed in disbelief at her husband.
- It dawned on her why Ling Yao was so strange tonight.
- Based on his personality, no matter how badly he desired a woman, he would not have touched her.
- Turned out, it was because he did not recognize her at all.
- ‘Ever since they were married, they've lived apart. Li Xinyu is only Mrs. Ling in name. In reality, Mr Ling might even not remember what she looks like!’ in a startling turn of events for Lin Xinyu, all the derision from those high society women that befell her, had become a self-fulfilling prophecy.
- Under his body, her large and beautiful eyes had misted over, giving her the airs of one who was mistreated and uncomfortable.
- Ling Yao eased up, slowed down his movements and kissed her on her eyelids.
- Li Xinyu who was not in the position to retaliate, berated, “Animal,” over and over again in her heart.
- Until her eyelids grew so heavy, she could no longer keep them open.
- She passed out.
- ……
- Clean and clear rays of sunlight scattered all over the earth.
- By the time Ling Yao came to, that woman had already left his embrace.
- Reflecting on how he drove that woman to exhaustion until she lost consciousness, and then lay on his chest, like a pliable stuffed bunny spooned by him, he smiled. This one’s pretty good at running.
- He was very satisfied with this woman, who was taciturn and alluring.
- If one of his buddies had arranged it, then he sure picked a good one.
- The pillow still bore traces of her scent, a very reminder of her smooth and tactile skin... Keeping her on his bed for good was not too bad a prospect.
- No one else had that soft and tender body like hers, except for his scheming and plotting wife.
- Back in the day, nobody expected that Ling Yao would abruptly marry Li Xinyu.
- On recollection, Ling Yao only smiled icily. If it were not for that woman, Lin Xinyu, who laced his wine with medication... there would be no marriage, and then the Lis would not have held themselves together till this day and would surely have disappeared a long time ago.
- After he was drugged, the Lis paraded evidence that should not have existed and made their case to the Lings, demanding that he take responsibility for Li Xinyu. Mr and Mrs Ling were simply raring to go, as they could not wait for him to get married and bear them a grandchild that they can help raise. Through force and wit, they convinced him to tie the knot with Lin Xinyu.
- He detested that woman so much, that he did not even make an appearance. The day they were to collect their marriage certificate, he merely handed his official documents to his assistant, who completed everything on his behalf. Even the photograph on the marriage license was photoshopped.
- After getting married, his coldness and sarcasm, however, propelled Li Xinyu to become a laughingstock among the socialites.
- Li Xinyu dealt with these incidents with composure, and suggested that since she was still young, education was still on the table and she promptly transferred to a school overseas to study. She was gone for 3 years.
- In this marriage, only Li Xinyu had to suffer such embarrassment, while no one would ever blame Ling Yao for being heartless.
- Because he was Ling Yao, the golden boy.
- After living for 28 years, it was unfathomable to Ling Yao, that the one misstep he ever made, would put him right onto that woman’s bed.
- If anyone had to be blamed, it was Li Xinyu for being too devious and not him for being cold-hearted.
- 3 years had gone by, the honor of being Mrs Ling, rejuvenated the Li family… Li Xinyu got what she came for.
- It was time for these bonds of matrimony, to come to its end.
- Ling Yao closed his eyes slightly and instructed his personal assistant, Nan Feng, to draw up a divorce agreement and send a copy to Li Xinyu.
- He will compensate her fairly, not a cent less. But she had better not harbour thoughts about reaping any ill-gotten gains, so not a cent more for her either.
