Chapter 6 Father and Son Face-Off

  • Although she didn't know what happened to Willa in Claso, she was aware that Willa had been avoiding people from Claso.
  • Five years ago, Willa came to Aspary, already pregnant. During that time, she was heartbroken. Willa refused to use her phone and stepped out of the house. She even begged Rosa not to tell anyone she was there, as if she were deliberately hiding from someone.
  • Soon after, waves of people started searching for her. Her missing person posters were everywhere—on the streets and on TV.
  • Rosa had been her childhood friend and close confidante. She assisted Willa in shifting locations to evade detection, even resorting to hiding in the countryside.
  • Fortunately, when Willa was about to give birth, those looking for her seemed to have lost patience and left Aspary.
  • Willa turned to give Rosa a reassuring smile. She said, "It's okay, don't worry. I'm not the same person I was five years ago."
  • She patted Rosa's shoulder encouragingly and said, "Rosa, even though Bunny and I can't cheer for you in person at your show, we'll be cheering for you in front of the TV. You're the best. Go for it!"
  • Rosa knew that Willa had changed. She had become strong, capable, and wise. Now, no one could easily overpower her.
  • The person who had once hurt Willa would never be able to hurt her again.
  • As Bunny put it, Willa was an invincible warrior, a heroine who could defeat all monsters!
  • "Thank you, Willa!" Rosa hugged her best friend, and tears were welling in her eyes. She said, "Sob, sob, sob. I miss you both so much.
  • "I'll miss you too. Once I find that troublemaker, I'll come back to you." Willa hugged Rosa back, gently stroking her.
  • "Thank you for everything these past few years, Rosa. I need to take care of Bunny on my own, and I wouldn't have made it without you."
  • "Don't say that, Willa. Bunny has brought me so much joy over the years. I was hoping he'd take care of me in my old age. You can't get rid of me that easily." Rosa joked, trying to lighten the mood.
  • "Who said we're trying to get rid of you? Bunny told me that, when you get married, he'll be your ring bearer. That boy wants you to have many children so he can play with them." Willa teased.
  • "Lots of them? What do you think I am? Am I a pig?" Rosa pretended to be angry, looking adorable.
  • "Hey, that's not from me; it's from your godson," Willa said, using Bunny as a shield. She glanced at her watch and said, "Alright, it's about time. I have to go." She opened the door and left.
  • "Willa, I'll drive you to the airport." Rosa hurried after her. She had a feeling that Willa and Bunny might not return to Aspary after this trip to Claso.
  • "Don't bother. I don't like emotional farewells. I'll catch a taxi to the airport," Willa waved, never turning back.
  • No matter what awaited her ahead!
  • And no matter how much she didn't want to see people from Satford,
  • For her son's sake, this trip to Claso was unavoidable.
  • Watching Willa's departing figure, Rosa shouted, "Willa, once I finish my work here, I'll come find you both."
  • She couldn't just leave Bunny in Claso. Over the past five years, Bunny has been not just Willa's son but also her son. Days without Bunny would be too hard to bear.
  • She wouldn't let Willa be bullied in Claso. No one could bully her friend.
  • At that moment, a taxi passed by. Willa waved it away and put her suitcase in the trunk.
  • She didn't bring much, just a few changes of clothes; therefore, the suitcase wasn't heavy. She easily placed it in the trunk without waiting for the driver to help.
  • After loading her luggage, Willa gave Rosa a smile. She said, "Okay, if you make up your mind, we'll be waiting for you in Claso." She then got into the car.
  • The car headed towards the airport.
  • ...
  • Silver Tower was a top-tier, luxurious condominium complex in Satford's bustling area. Only the wealthy and noble could afford to live in this expensive location.
  • Bruce's apartment was a penthouse in Silver Tower. It was a luxurious duplex with high-end furnishings.
  • Returning from the police station, he had planned to take Bunny back to Dawson Estate. However, halfway there, a few friends called to invite him to the Elysium Club at midnight. Considering the distance, he decided to take Bunny to the penthouse instead.
  • Bunny sat on the spacious leather sofa. His big eyes darted around and took everything in. The boy asked, "Daddy, you don't look poor. You seem quite rich. Your house is much bigger than the one Mommy and I lived in. If you're so rich, why did you abandon us? Do you not like Mommy?"
  • Bruce's temples throbbed. His handsome face turned cold. He loosened his tie, sat opposite Bunny, and tried to reason with him. "Kid, let's have a talk."
  • Bunny sat up straight, his cute eyes wide and innocent. He asked naively, "Aren't we talking now? You haven't answered my question."
  • Bruce's eyes were dark as he glanced at the little boy. He asked, "Before I answer your question, shouldn't you tell me your name? What's your mom's name? What does she do? What does she look like?"
  • Bunny met Bruce's gaze without fear, like a little man. "Daddy, are you trying to trick me? Don't you know who my mom is? It appears that you have surrounded yourself with too many women and have forgotten about my mom. What a scumbag!"
  • Bruce's brows furrowed, and a vein throbbed on his forehead. He asked, "It seems like you don't intend to talk seriously with me." His voice was icy.
  • "Wrong. You don't want to have a serious conversation. You haven't answered my question either," Bunny pouted, his eyes fierce as he stared back, unafraid.
  • "Haha! Little one, you're challenging my patience!" Bruce sneered; his deep eyes were cold and unfathomable.
  • "Hmph! What if I am an old man?" Bunny retorted coolly, his small face stern.
  • Their eyes locked. The father and son had a face-off, neither willing to back down.
  • Standing aside, Jake watched the confrontation. Their aura and looks were strikingly similar, making him want to laugh.
  • The little master truly was fearless, probably the only one in the world daring to challenge his boss.
  • At a young age, his aura wasn't inferior to that of his father. Truly, like a father, like a son. Who would come up as a winner in this father-son face-off was yet to be determined.
  • Come to think of it, his boss was usually cold and reserved, focused solely on work and socializing. No one had seen him with a woman in years. Who knew he had secretly fathered a child—and such a grown one at that?
  • If his parents found out that their son had brought back such a grown grandson, they'd be overjoyed.
