• Elsida chose to believe what she heard didn't concern her family even as her heart rattled wildly in her chest suggesting otherwise.
• She stood adjacent to the door rooted to the ground as she took in the interaction between Julien and his Father, her hands trembling as she gripped the doorknob tightly. She couldn't hear a thing they were saying, her ricocheting heartbeat made sure of that.
