Chapter 11 Were You Trying to Kill Her
- When I came about, I was laying in a single hospital room. There was another woman in her fifties. I recognized her right away, she was the servant working for my grandma Qin Ci.
- "Mrs. Chen..." I called out weakly.
- Mrs. Chen turned around and spoke nervously, "There, don't move around too much. I am going to call the doctor over."
- Then she rushed out of the room.
- I looked around. It looks like I am at Shengxin Hospital too.
- Why am I here? Why is Mrs.Chen looking after me?
- There was no one to answer my questions.
- Soon, Mrs. Chen returned with the doctor. The doctor checked my conditions. It was just over exhaustion and low blood sugar. All I have to do is to improve my diet.
- I thanked the doctor and wait for him to leave so I may ask what happened during the time I was passed out.
- Mrs. Chen explained that after I blacked out, Ji Zeyan got me to the hospital and left after he told them my identity.
- The hospital recognized me as a Qin family member and agreed to take me.
- They first called my parents, Qin Zhaoming and Fan Yu, but both of them didn't care.
- The hospital was forced to call Qin Ci.
- Tears welled up when Mrs. Chen told me this.
- Qin Ci is the head of the Qin family. Both of her children took on her last name.
- Since three years ago, when I arrived at the Qin family, no one accepted me. No one even looked at me in the eye.
- The only exception was Qin Ci. She remembered my birthday and even held a birthday party for me.
- She even invited many of the powerful people to my first birthday party so she may introduce me to them.
- While I was wallowing in my memories, Qin Ci entered the room and sat next me. She took my hand into hers, "Qi, you got thinner. When we go back, let Mrs Chen cook you something."
- "It's okay. I can take care of myself." I didn't want to let Qin Ci know that I was living at Jiang Shan's place. Otherwise she was sure to try to help find another place to live.
- I didn't want to trouble her further.
- Qin Ci knew me well, so she didn't follow up, but she continued, "What happened? Why are you here?"
- I stared blankly at her, unable to answer.
- I really didn't want to trouble her further.
- Qin Ci frowned at my silence, "Are you hiding something from me about your family?"
- I blanked out.
- I stared at Qin Ci, contemplating should I ask for her advice on the wedding and the event last night. Suddenly, Fan Yu and Qin Zhaoming showed up in the doorway.
- Both of them did not look too happy. Noticing that Qin Ci was holding my hand, Fan Yu yelled, "Qin Ziqi, what do you want? Were you trying to kill Qin?"
- Her action unsurprsingly peaked Qin Ci's interest. Qin Ci turned around and asked sternly for more details.
- Fan Yu half keeled in front of Qin Ci with a heartbroken expression. She started with the wedding. The version she told this time was even more exaggerated than the version she told before in front of Ji Zeyan.
- At first, I tried to argue back in rage, but soon I realized that Qin Ci's indifferent expression never changed.
- Her hand was still on mine.
- I waited until Fan Yu finished, "It was not like this."
- "What more do you have to say?" Qin Zhaoming raised his hand against me upon hearing that.
- Qin Ci pulled me behind her, "Enough! Wait until both of them are out of the hospital first!"
- Qin Zhaoming didn't dare to defy Qin Ci's words.
- My conditions were not too bad, so I was out in the afternoon. I followed Qin Ci home, along with Fan Yu and Qin Zhaoming.
- When we were at the door, other than Qin Ci's servants, there were another one, Qin Zhaoming's servant, Mrs. Qiu.
- Qin Zhaoming seemed to realize something upon seeing her, "What are you doing here?"
- Mrs. Qiu lowered her head and said nothing.
- She seemed to have realized something also.
- The day before the wedding, when Qin Zhaoming was asking me to be the substitute, she was right there at the scene.
