Chapter 3 I'm Not A Whore
- CHAPTER 3: I'm not a whore
- Sarah was confused, she had no idea of what she was talking about. She had done nothing to Veronica. Has something happened to her?
- “Do you know this woman,Mrs Maxwell?” He asked with his authoritative tone.
- Estelle bobbed her head as she wiped away her tears. “Yes. She's my stepdaughter. Her mother was my husband's mistress.”
- Sarah hung her head in humiliation.
- Edward's face darkened. “Why was the illegitimate daughter, who I had no idea existed, and never asked for, sent to me?” He barked, looking from Sarah to Estelle. He felt insulted.
- Estelle was scared because of the rage and authority that he radiated. She had to make sure that Sarah takes the fall.
- “Veronica was supposed to head out to meet you yesterday, but she was rushed to the hospital last night after she was poisoned by Sarah who wanted to be the one to marry a wealthy man.”
- Sarah's head quickly snapped up, her eyes wide as saucers.
- “What? What…what are you talking about?” she could not believe what she was hearing. She was lying against her.
- She had never dreamed of marrying a wealthy man, or taking Veronica's place. They had ordered her to do it.
- Edward saw red. He did not love Veronica, but he hated vile and despicable women who would do anything for money.
- “How dare you?” he growled at Sarah who began to take little steps backwards while shaking her head.
- “It's not true,” she cried, waving her hands in front of her to ward him off.
- Edward was more pissed and angry that he was almost played by Sarah. He almost bought her timid mouse persona, when in reality she was a poisonous snake, a despicable woman.
- He grabbed her wrists in a painful grip. His eyes blazing with rage and disgust for Sarah.
- “How dare you try to fool me.Hurting Veronica, and coming here instead of her. And to think that you sneaked into my bed too. You are really desperate, vile and disgusting,” he spat in her face.
- The tears that were brimming finally escaped. Sarah was deeply hurt and broken by his words. She had not intended, or set out to sleep with him, it just happened.
- “Please, that's not true. I didn’t–”
- Afraid that she might say something, Estelle quickly interrupted her.
- “Veronica is currently in the hospital battling for her life. What did she ever do to you? She always loved you,” she added amidst tears.
- Edward tightened her grip on her wrist and the miniature star charms on the bracelets Sarah wore dug deeper into her flesh drawing blood, and she winced, but he did not notice. His rage and disdain had blinded him.
- “It's women like you that I loathe the most. You hurt and also deceive people just to get whatever you want, The sight of you makes me sick,” he growled looking into her blotched face.
- He was mad and disappointed with himself, because he had fallen into her devious plans and slept with her. He prided himself in having an impenetrable self control, but last night proved him otherwise.
- Sarah kept whimpering in pain, and trying to free her wrists, she had never felt more pain or disgrace in her entire life.
- “I didn't do anything wrong. I did not hurt Veronica. Please… please believe me,” she begged. She wished she never crossed paths with him.
- “I should have you thrown in jail,” Edward sneered.
- Estelle's eyes sparked with excitement, but Sarah shook her head with terror in her eyes. She didn't want to go to jail, especially since she did nothing wrong.
- “I am only going to let you go, because of the services you rendered last night,” he sneered intentionally to hurt and humiliate her.
- Sarah was hurt, humiliated and in pain. He was treating her like a whore.
- “If you think that red patch on my bed earned you brownie points, think again. I may have been the first man to bed you, but with how despicable you are, I am sure many more gullible men will soon follow.”
- He was never violent, nor manhandled women but he hated that he had been played by that He saw the blood that dropped from the cut on her wrist.
- “Dammit!”
- “Believe me, I am innocent. I’m not a whore,” Sarah cried pathetically
- He suddenly flung her away. Sarah staggered back and hit the ground. She raised teary pain filled eyes to the man who had inflicted more pain and humiliation on her in a short period of time, than she had received all her life.
- Estelle watched with a smile of satisfaction and triumph as Sarah suffered pain and humiliation. He was not that difficult to convince.
- Edward had no idea why the girl was affecting him so much, but he needed her out of his sight.
- “Get the hell out of my house this minute,” Edward roared.
- “I don't ever want to set my eyes on you again.” He quickly spun on his heels and stormed off.
- “And you are not welcome in my house nor my family anymore,” Estelle added and Sarah ran out of the room in tears.
- *****************************
- “What's my schedule for the rest of the day?” Sarah asked her assistant as she walked briskly towards her office.
- Irene was hot on her boss's trail. “You have a nine am meeting with Mr Burner from Zen Airlines—”
- Sarah pushed open the four of her office and walked in.
- “Cancel it.”
- Irene nodded and did as she was told. Sarah took her seat and began going through her emails on her computer.
- “By ten thirty you have a meeting with Mr Reeve from Skyrise, and a meeting with the marketing department by 2pm after lunch.”
- Sarah shifted her gaze to Irene. “When were these meetings scheduled?”
- “The meeting with Mr Reeve wss scheduled two months ago, and you approved the meeting with the marketing department two weeks ago,” Irene answered.
- “Is there a problem ma'am?”
- Sarah almost rolled her eyes at her assistant's blunder.
- “What is today's date,Irene?”
- Irene frowned in confusion. She checked the calendar on her digital planner and her face paled in horror.
- “Am so sorry, ma'am. I forgot that you asked me to clear your schedule before lunch today,”she apologised in embarrassment.
- Sarah turned her attention back to her screen.
- “Call Mr Reeve's assistant and reschedule another meeting for next week. Have the conference room ready for the presentation with the marketing team in twenty minutes.”
- Irene was nodding enthusiastically and taking notes on her planner. “Anything else, ma'am?”
- “No.”
- Irene nodded and headed for the door.
- “And Irene—” Sarah called and Irene turned to her boss.
- “Don't mess it up this time,” Sarah said sternly.
- Irene felt embarrassed about the blunder she had committed with her boss. But she was grateful her boss was not horrible like the other executives.
- “Yes ma'am. Am sorry ma'am.”
- Sarah nodded. “You may go.”
- Sarah's phone rang immediately as she stepped out of the conference room. She picked up the call and Benicio rich baritone filled the line.
- “Hope you are already on your way to the school, mommy?” He teased.
