• I’d barely seen Lilian in two days. As her Alpha, I should’ve checked in sooner, especially with how much she’d been helping me manage the workload. But if I was being honest with myself, I didn’t just want to check on her; I wanted to see Darius. I told myself that it was just duty—being a leader, checking on my Beta, looking after my people.
