Chapter 60

• JaxI trudged up the stairs after an emotional goodbye with my sister. I saw her to the door and made her promise to mind link with me when she made it home safely. I knew the others had everything under control for the time being, but I could not help the worry that continued to suffuse me where my sister was concerned.
• I located Willow snuggled up in the downy bedding upon entering the room, noticing the moisture and light fragrance that still permeated the air from her recent shower.
• As much as I wanted to crawl right into the bed next to her, I somehow resisted the temptation and made my way into the bathroom to clean up after another taxing day. I felt the anxiety creeping up on me again, beyond ready to finally be home in my own territory with Willow by my side, right where she would always belong.
