Chapter 7

  • Hilda walked over to the table, sat on an empty seat, and started eating the leftovers.
  • "Ma'am! What are you doing? No ma'am, please stop!" One of the maids said as she saw Hilda eating the leftovers.
  • Hilda stopped eating immediately as she heard the lady's voice.
  • "You shouldn't do that ma'am. There's more than enough food. You shouldn't be eating Sir Alexander's leftovers. I'll bring some fresh food for you, ma'am".
  • The maid said. The lady walked away and brought a plate of freshly made cheese steak sandwich, lobster rolls, avocado toast, and fruit smoothies; almost immediately.
  • "Thank you". Hilda said. She ate hurriedly and hungrily. When she was well fed and full, she went upstairs to her room.
  • **********
  • The next morning, Hilda received a phone call from Jacqueline. She wanted to hangout with Hilda later in the day.
  • "Sure. I'll meet you there". Hilda said, while ending the call.
  • "Who was that!?" A deep commanding voice asked, startling her. She could recognise it anywhere. It was Alexander's voice.
  • "My friend". Hilda said.
  • "What friend?"
  • "Jack".
  • "And, what did she want?"
  • "To hangout at- at the mall".
  • "You're going nowhere. You have more than enough clothes already".
  • "So, I can't see my friend?"
  • "She can come over. But, you're not leaving this house anywhere without me".
  • "But why? Am I a prisoner now? I'm your wife! At least, give me some respect!" Hilda yelled.
  • "Respect?" Alexander scoffed. He grabbed her chin furiously.
  • "Please- let me go". Hilda said weakly.
  • "Now, listen to me and listen carefully. You're going nowhere you hear me!? Your miserable friend can come over here to see you. You're not stepping out of this building. You're my wife now, so you'll do as I say!"
  • "Yes-o-kay…" Hilda stammered faintly.
  • "Now get dressed. We're heading out".
  • "Why? But-"
  • "I said, do as I say, woman!!!"
  • "Okay. But where are we going?"
  • "Wear a dress". Alexander said coldly.
  • She walked over to her closet and picked a fancy dress from one of the many dresses in her closet. It was a silver dress, which was long, and very fitting. It hugged her, and showed her perfect curves. She took a small silver purse to go with the dress, and styled her hair in a pretty way.
  • 'Wow, this dress fits me perfectly'. She said to herself.
  • "Where are you!?" Alexander yelled. His voice was heard from downstairs; which meant that he was waiting for Hilda.
  • Hilda hurriedly went downstairs; she had no time to put on some make-up because she didn't want to keep Alexander waiting.
  • "I'm here". Hilda said, walking over to Alexander. Guards were standing behind him, while he sat on a comfy seat.
  • "And what took you so long?"
  • "I was just dressing up".
  • "I don't like what you're wearing. You should change into something more appropriate".
  • "But why? I like this dress. Besides, it fits me perfectly".
  • "With this dress, men will be all over you!"
  • "But- I like this dress".
  • "And, I said I don't! Obey me woman!"
  • "But…"
  • Before Hilda could utter another word, Alexander grabbed her wrist forcefully, which made her wince in pain. He dragged her upstairs to her room, and opened her closet.
  • "Here, wear this". He said, throwing a dress in her face. It was a black, long dress; and it definitely wasn't her style.
  • "I don't like this dress. It looks tacky".
  • "Dress up, woman!"
  • "But please, I prefer the-"
  • "Arghhh!!!"
  • "Okay, I'll wear it". Hilda said submissively.
  • "Hurry!" Alexander yelled. He stood by the door of her room, looking sternly at her.
  • "Please, can you leave while I dress?" She asked, looking a bit uncomfortable and intimidated by his presence.
  • "You seem to forget one thing Hilda; I am your husband, and you are my wife. I have every right to see you dress up".
  • "But- I'm not comfortable, Alex".
  • Alex walked over to her in an instant, and there was no space between them. He was so close to her. He moved slowly to her face, and Hilda's heartbeat began to pace. Alex was a handsome man; and him being this close to her made her body shiver. He held her face, and straightened it a little, making her look directly at him. His lips were barely inches away from hers; and Hilda's heart pace increased. He stared at her before drifting to her side and whispering into her ears.
  • "Now, you listen to me. You either wear this dress or I make that phone call which will make your father lose his dear company".
  • "Please-"
  • "I said wear this fucking dress!!"
  • "Okay". Hilda said. She wore the dress; while Alexander stood, watching her. When she was done, he held her and led her downstairs to the limo.
  • "Good day boss". One of the guards greeted him.
  • "Open the darn door!" Alexander yelled.
  • "Yes boss".
  • "To the Sparkling Soiree Charity event". Alexander said to the driver.
  • "Yes boss".
  • "Where are we going?" Hilda asked.
  • Alexander gave no response. He stared at her before turning away quickly, lighting up a cigarette.
  • "Why are you treating me this way? What have I done wrong?" Hilda asked. It had only been two days since the wedding, and she was already fed up.
  • Alexander turned her direction and blew the contents of his cigarette in her face, which made her cough.
  • "Why do you decide to treat me like air?" She continued- ignoring his antics.
  • "I am your wife, Alexander".
  • "Well, as my wife, I expect you to be submissive and obedient". He said, tossing the cigarette in an ashtray.
  • "I am tired of this marriage! You've been nothing but horrible since we got married! I can't do this anymore! Ive had it!" Hilda yelled.
  • "Well, okay. If you're tired, I should probably make that call. And you know what that means right?" He said coldly.
  • "No please. Don't do that".
  • "Then shut up, woman!".
  • "Yes, okay". Hilda said, giving up.
