Chapter 21 Self-blame

- “Do you think you could make time for your old man?” My father asked after we discussed how he had contacted Camilo, but he shut him down. My father and half-brother, Logan, were in town for two days and wanted to see us. Every time he came to New York, he contacted us; he had done so for the previous seven years, but Camilo would not have it. He hated our father.
- "I would have loved to," I said in response to his question. "But my friend just lost her father, and I can not leave her alone right now. I will try to see if we can meet tomorrow, but I cannot make any promises. Would tomorrow work for you?”
