Chapter 6 Rogue Omega
- Maddox’s P.O.V.
- “Please spare my mate’s life!”
- I toyed with the glass of bourbon while relishing the screams of Alpha Raymond, the video of that auction was played on the wall length L.C.D in my office.
- His sorry expressions were more enjoyable than his words, I was leisurely feasting over my enemy’s misery after suffering for eight years.
- Yes, after eight long years.
- The nagging pain in my chest was fairly subsided by watching blood pooling around Alpha’s body, it was such an admirable sight to finally witness in peace. I picked up the remote and rewind the video, grabbing the bottle to watch that particular scene again.
- However, my happy hour was ruined by the overly frank intruder, who didn’t even bother to knock before entering.
- “How long are you going to waste your time over this video clip, Maddox? We have plenty of pressing matters on our plate.”
- That oldie, giving free advice at every moment like a grandpa was my buddy and Beta James, glaring at me like he was my Alpha.
- Paying no heed to his untimely commentary, I resumed my fun activity, but he crossed all the limits. James plugged out the cable and stood in front of the TV, spitting out more nonsense.
- “Look at you, Maddox. Wine and TV all day, like you are a crazy teenager with no responsibility whatsoever.
- Move your lazy ass and get to work. We have no time ...”
- I banged the bottle on the table and let out a frustrated groan, rubbing my ears to annoy him in return.
- “My dad appointed you as my Beta, so shut it. And I need more wine, not your advice.
- These three centuries have taught me well about the Kingdom’s affairs.”
- There wasn’t a moment in my three centuries’ long rule over the supernatural world when James hadn’t supported me, so his insensitive approach to the celebration of my victory was out of my mind. Like what was the rush? I had worked my entire life, one day off would not derail my government.
- But this simple point was out of my buddy’s jurisdiction, he threw three bottles of bourbon in the trash and sat on the chair across my table.
- “If you are so well versed in the Kingdom’s affairs, then what are you waiting for?
- The Queen of the supernatural world is here, let’s arrange a party for her introduction. You have already wasted enough time by sending her to that breeder camp.”
- “She is a mere omega, not my Queen.”
- James’s suggestion of a welcome party for that rogue omega set me on fire, sending my brain into overdrive. I, the mighty King of the supernatural world, Maddox Miller, was mated to a weak slave, Shyla Alford?
- Heaven must be joking, as that omega couldn’t be the answer to my centuries long wait. After searching every corner of the world, contacting countless witches for tracking my soulmate, I was almost hopeless. But all those efforts ended with a sudden encounter with that terrified omega slave that night.
- The scene of my first encounter flashed across my mind as James’s words stirred my lycan, waking him up,
- “She is our Queen, you dumbass! I want my Shyla now!”
- That was it for my patience as James’s teamed up with my feral side and dared to correct me too.
- “I admit that Her Highness Shyla is an omega, but we don’t make rules here, Maddox.
- Why aren’t you thankful that your Erasthai is here to complete your quest and strengthen your rule over the Kingdom?”
- I shot up and turned the table over him, his surprised growl satisfied me to the core. This matter was challenging my sanity, only my revenge from Alpha Raymond was the ray of peace in this impenetrable darkness.
- I chuckled, masking my inner turmoil with indifference, this was my signature move in difficult times.
- “Her highness Shyla? You are wasting respect for a dumb omega who is unaware of the word Erasthai!”
- James set the table back and arranged the items over it, his defensive tone was drastically different from the previous enthusiastic one,
- “What can we expect from her, Maddox? An omega who has spent her life as a slave will be clueless of different terminologies used for soulmates.
- I bet her highness doesn’t know that vampires call their soulmates beloved.”
- He didn’t consider this enough and continued with a more absurd reason,
- “And why does this even matter? Heaven has selected her as your life partner, you should accept this decision and announce celebrations in the Kingdom.
- Our lycan race is already facing a low birth rate, this blessing will allow others to pray for their Erasthais.”
- It was true that meeting your Erasthai was rare among lycans, my pack was struggling with numbers as compared to werewolves. Their packs were flourishing in number, which meant strong armies. The breeder camps were benefiting them more than us. But still, it wasn’t a convincing reason to accept that omega as my Erasthai!
- “I have a harem; it’ll soon solve the problem of an heir.
- Several educated, well-mannered young girls from noble backgrounds are here for my service. Why should I compromise on a sharp tongue, presumptuous, and arrogant omega?
- She deliberately refused to recognize me and called me Magnus, threatening to report my crimes to the Lycan King for justice.”
- James gawked at me stupidly, this new development was shocking for him. However, my lycan, Zeth, bared his claws for a fight,
- “Touch another woman and trust me, Maddox. I will not hesitate to cut your c*ck.”
- What? I was taken aback by Zeth’s furious growling; was he truly ready to be a eunuch just to punish me for exercising my rights as the King?
- On the other hand, James broke into a fit of laughter after quickly processing that shock, he was amused by that omega’s idiocy.
- “Her highness mistook you for Alpha Magnus?
- Now I get it.
- You became angry when she cautiously tried to ask for your name and ordered me to send her to the Hawthrone Pack temporarily.
- Your obsession with concealing your identity by using Magnus’s name is the cause of this misunderstanding. But look at the brighter side, this is a perfect base for a lasting love story, Maddox. You and ...”
- “Enough!”
- I used my maximum Alpha command in my words and cut him off mid-sentence.
- “I don’t believe in these human emotions, James. And for that omega, she can think whatever she wants, it’s none of my business.”
- James knelt on the floor immediately, baring his neck in submission. My royal command had shown him his place immediately. His trembling voice was supposed to please me, but it was more of a gaslighting.
- “As you wish, Your Majesty. I’ll ask the head of servants to arrange for her to stay in servants’ quarters.
- A place full of hungry males is the most suitable for a female in heat.”
- “You!”
- Despite my unrivaled power and control, I was outclassed by my best friend, he knew when and how to press my aching nerve. His mean smirk challenged me openly, but it couldn’t lessen the impact of the onslaught hurled at me.
- When I saw that omega for the first time on the way to attack Blood Moon Pack, Zeth took over me and accepted the bond verbally. This must have started the three months of heat necessary for mating and the first child for the new couple.
- Zeth filled my head with countless scenarios of spending this period intimately with Shyla. Then my blood boiled just to imagine her being surrounded by horny servants in my own Castle.
- “Go and ask the butler to prepare a guest room for Shyla. Lock her in there and make sure that no man can catch a whiff of her scent.”
