Chapter 4 A Double Date
- Thalia is in the hospital right now, visiting her friend. She wasn’t expecting to stay there for how many hours.
- While he was caressing her waist, he speaks up. “I heard; Sebastian is going to be engaged to Dina.”
- “Hmm,” she hummed. “We already talked at home yesterday.” Her tone is flat, as if they’re talking about other people.
- Drake glared at her. “You’re not in a hurry at all, aren’t you?”
- She shook her head. “I’m not in a hurry. This marriage can’t be happening.” she confidently muttered.
- Thalia changed her skirt and after that, she pulled on Drake’s coat. “Let’s go to the club tonight, my treat.”
- He lowered his head. “No, Irina will come home tonight.” he refused.
- She heaved a deep sigh. “Didn’t expect you to turn me down tonight.”
- After a few minutes, she bid goodbye to him and went out of the hospital. As soon as she drives her car, she notices someone following her. And soon later, she eventually notice who’s the owner of it.
- It was Evan, with his red Ferrari. He dared to follow her, and she was asking herself what does he want for her again. Evan Everdeen’s reputation is notorious in the city of Burgandy, and she know that he’s terrible.
- Soon enough, she slowly drove the car, and when she reached the most prosperous area in the city, she stopped and looked at her side mirror only to find out that Evan had left his car.
- She suddenly felt scared, as she was about to call Sebastian, but Evan was already on the side of her car. Her heart was beating so fast and again, he called Sebastian but his line was busy.
- She tried to reach for him for a couple of minutes, but it just rang twice and directly hung up mercilessly. She breathed heavily and just ignored the fear in her whole existence.
- She opened the car door and went out. She faced him bravely enough.
- “What do you want this time, Evan?” she asked politely.
- Evan straightened. “Won’t you mind if I ask you to go out with me and have a little drink tonight?”
- She rolled her eyes. She was too lazy now to get a drink and get wasted. And the main reason too, is she doesn’t want Evan to be with her. Thalia knows that they will end up in the most luxurious and high-class private club in the city, where the level of security is superb.
- “I’m not in the mood, though,” she replied, refusing him. “Sorry to disappoint you, Mr. Everdeen, but I want to refuse your call.”
- She noticed that his jaw clenched and his forehead knitted.
- “What if I don’t want your refuge?” He challenges. “I want to have a drink with you tonight since you are worthy of my time, so don’t think of wasting it.” There’s a threat in his voice.
- Before she could utter a word, a fast Lamborghini sports car stopped before them. Both are shocked, especially when Sebastian gets out of the car and in the passenger seat, Dina seated on it.
- “What’s the matter here?” Sebastian asked seriously and coldly.
- Evan clears his throat. “There’s no problem here. I’m just asking Dina’s sister to come to drink with me tonight.”
- Dina, on the other side, gets off the car and speaks. “Mr. Evan, what’s with my sister’s reaction?” she asked wickedly. “Why don’t you just get here and take her to a fancy restaurant? That’s good for the both of you to know each other even more,” she added.
- Thalia’s face was annoyed. “Why don’t you come with him, Dina? Ever since you insist on going with him?” she mocked. The tables turn right now.
- Dina gritted her teeth but composed herself. “You! What are you talking about?”
- Thalia rolled her eyes. “Stop pretending like you’re an angel descended here,” she uttered meaningfully. “Don’t act foolish, my dear step-sister. You’re no match for me, no matter how people like you.”
- Dina almost slapped her when Evan held Thalia’s waist and moved her away to avoid Dina’s rage.
- “W-What are you doing?” Dina's voice trembled. “I- I thought…” she couldn’t finish her words.
- “You’re making a scene, Dina.” Sebastian’s cold yet dangerous tone said.
- On the other hand, Sebastian’s eyes landed on Thalia’s waist, and he crumpled his fists the way Evan held her. His expression screams jealousy and annoyance.
- Even though Thalia tries to struggle with Evan’s grip, she can’t. She doesn’t want to be embarrassed right in front of her sister.
- “Dina, Dina, Dina…” Thalia yelled her name. “How dare you lay a hand on me? Are you jealous that I am more attractive than you? That man drools for me over you?” she mocked, giving meaning to it as she looked at Sebastian.
- Dina laughed sardonically and encircled her arms to Sebastian. “Why would I be jealous of you, dear sister, when in fact, Sebastian will marry me, and we’ll create a big happy-”
- “I am not going to marry just to create a big happy family,” Sebastian said, cutting Dina’s sentence. “Don’t ever lay a hand on your sister. You should respect her, Dina,” he added in a cold yet dangerous tone.
- Dina knitted her forehead, and she looked at her sister with an annoyed look and a cold stare. She rolled her eyes even more as she felt hatred against her.
- She smiled wickedly and said, “Listen to your future husband, my dear sister. If you continue to act like that….” She shrugged her shoulder. “I can’t stop myself but feel pity for you once he turned down your engagement,” Thalia ended savagely.
- “Oh, before I forget, do you mind coming with us? Let’s have a double date?” Evan suggested and convinced the couple in front of them.
- Thalia was shocked but acted playful while Sebastian raised his brows and dropped his eyes to Thalia.
- “A double date it is,” Sebastian agreed.
- Sebastian sat far from the corner, with his cigarette between his fingertips. At the same time, his eyebrows are hidden with darkness, and he doesn’t have any emotions on his face while looking at Thalia beside Evan.
- He should disagree with this kind of setup, and he felt annoyed all of a sudden. This is not him, and he shouldn’t feel this way. He should be ruthless and ignore that woman, but he can’t for the reason that she will be a good investor in his company.
- They’re also with their colleagues and friends who understand them. They knew about how he treated Thalia. It’s not new to everyone. He is sure that it’s all just a plaything—a playful act.
- But no matter what, Thalia is still the woman he slept with. Some of Sebastian’s couple was secretly having a bet last time but couldn’t guess his mind for a while now.
- Some of his friends came to him and sat opposite him. Sebastian remained silent, but Vinci spoke.
