• As soon as Tiger left the room and Belle heard him lock the door, she got up with sudden inspiration and determination to find a way to escape.
• She looked around the room, and it was then she noticed that there wasn't a window there. It was just the bed and its thin sheet, two wooden chairs where Tiger and the other man had sat before now, a short bedside stool for which the food was kept for her, and the scarf used to tie her hands.
• Her determination died just as quickly as it came after she saw that there was nothing to make a plan with.
