Chapter 13 Nuan You Are Too Kind
- Fu Siye's arms held her so tightly that Gu Annuan could feel the pounding of his heartbeat.
- She was in his arms and dared not shove him away. The only way was to bury herself in his chest.
- “Mr. Fu, well...” Li Yunsuo was going to quash the whole issue. He was an official from the central government. Fu Siye was indeed an influential man in Jin City, but the man needn't offend him, right?
- A cold glint flashed across Fu Siye's raven black eyes. He curled his lips up and chuckled, “What's wrong? Uncle Li, are you going to play dirty? I heard that you're going to be promoted to the position of Secretary-General soon. Our Secretary-General who hails from Jin City must hold true to his words, since I heard that Mr. Qin values that the most.”
- “Fu Siye! Are you threatening me? Who are you to threaten me? You've just returned to the country. I don't think you've fully grasped the situation!” Li Yunsuo was triggered by the words and retorted back furiously. His face was flushed red as he threw the wine glass on the ground in a fit of anger.
- “I'm not powerful enough to threaten you. But when Mr. Qin was ill back then, my sister donated a kidney to him...” Fu Siye narrowed his eyes, “Uncle Li, can you guess who Mr. Qin will help? Me or you?”
- “Fu Siye! You're... You're a bully!” Li Yunsuo choked with apoplectic rage. He wasn't afraid of anyone else except for Mr. Qin, who was his superior. That man could bring his entire political career down. Of course, he was terrified of him.
- He didn't know about the Fu family's relationship with Mr. Qin. But Mr. Qin did indeed suffer from kidney failure a while ago and finally managed to get a donor to donate a kidney after searching for a long time.
- Li Yunsuo's gazed at Gu Annuan viciously, like he wanted to gobble her up.
- “I'm indeed a bully.”
- Fu Siye took a sip of his drink and smiled.
- “Fu Siye! How dare you go against me for a woman like her? Is she worth doing so?”
- Fu Siye's face darkened when he heard the harsh words uttered by Li Yunsuo. He demanded coldly, “Let me repeat my words. Apologize to Nuan right now!”
- Li Yunsuo was utterly humiliated.
- “You know the consequences if you don't do it.”
- The man's voice was like the grim reaper who would end his political career anytime.
- “It's just a misunderstanding. Let's just forget about it.” Gu Annuan didn't want to offend Li Yunsuo as he was still handling her father's case.
- “Of course not.” Fu Siye tightened his arms around her, spewing his liquor breath into her face. He said lazily, “Nuan, you're too kind. That's why people bully you.”
- Li Yunsuo had no choice. He took a step forward and forced out a smile, “Nuan, I was wrong. Please forgive me this time, okay?”
- Gu Annuan was about to answer when Fu Siye cut her off with a sneer, “Uncle Li, your apology is not sincere at all.”
- “Yes...” Li Yunsuo straightened his back and bowed deeply to Gu Annuan in front of everyone. “Nuan, what I did was wrong. I'm extremely sorry and I won't do it again!”
- Gu Annuan wanted to help him up, but the man standing beside her locked her tightly in his arms.
- Fu Siye handed his wine glass to the waiter. The man had an arrogant look on his face as he ordered icily, “Li Yunsuo, I think you've completely misunderstood what I meant. I want you to kneel down and apologize to Nuan!”
