Chapter 44 The Distance Between Us

• I wasn’t sure how long we walked but it couldn’t have been very long. It was so dark that I could barely see around me. Hayden wouldn’t say anything, and I couldn’t bring myself to say anything either, so we walked together in silence. Without knowing what else I could do, I decided to start praying for Hayden’s phone to be able to pick up some signal.
• It was nothing short of a miracle that my prayers were answered shortly after.
• “I think we’ve got signal…” Hayden mumbled as he began calling someone on his phone.
