Chapter 8 Lost In Thoughts

• Dahlia POV
• I felt something like a heavy headache immediately.. where did it go. off course I left it here this morning.
• I began to look for it. I can't lose this after losing my chicken and chips that I saved up for.
• I scattered the table and and then pulled out the drawer but it looked like it wasn't touched at all and there was nothing found
• "Where did you go!!!" I cried lowly scattering everywhere around me just to find my Lariat necklace.. its really one of a kind.
• This one too..I saved up for it and now its missing???
• I groaned as I walked to my closet to begin to search.
• I searched every box where I kept some special jewelry but it wasn't there at all
• Where else do I search again. I began thinking of the last occasions I used it for. It wasn't in my jeans nor baggy nor gown even bags so where???
• I got even more frustrated when a call came in. I picked my phone up lazily to see the caller
• "Hey Riley....." I said again tiredly
• "What again?" she asked also noticing the way I sounded
• "Yeah I'm so sorry..... I can't talk now and please don't be annoyed I'm looking for something.. we'll speak maybe later tonight or tomorrow morning" I said trying to cajole her
• "okay sure have a good night barbie!" she replied
• "and you too" I replied as I ended the call and threw my phone away
• Honestly speaking... I have no idea where it would be.
• Out of frustration I fell to my bed
• "Why don't you ask them?"
• Wait...that's true...I've searched around and why don't I ask them. They were home anyways
• I stood up maybe my subconscious mind is saying something reasonable so I headed out
• off course Dylan won't wear Lariat necklace! its for girls aloned not unisex.
• So either of the siblings or mom too
• I walked out of my room trying to look calm
• I haven't even recovered from the last one..and now this
• I walked to Dacy room and luckily it was opened so I stepped in without knocking
• "manners?" she groaned as she looked up and saw it was me
• "Dahlia right?" she asked casually
• "Well you don't know? its best if you don't anyways" I muttered
• "so why are you here...did you leave something here?" she asked
• "maybe I did and maybe I didn't or maybe it is the other way round between the two of us" I replied
• "what is your point!" she rolled her eyes
• "yeah straight to the point..I can't find my lariat necklace and so I was wondering if you did saw it or mistook it" I replied
• She gave a blank look on her face and rolled her eyes
• "did you?" I asked again not even loving I did
• "Did I reply you...what does it mean?"
• "oh...." that was the only word able to escape my lips
• "so if you're going please shut the door" she replied and turned back to the note before her
• Oh.....yes!
• I bit my lips and walked away feeling stupid!
• why did I even go to her..off course she should have been helpful but she said she didn't so I guess I'll keep quiet.
• I hate going to ask round and round....
• I turned to walk back to my room and closed the door walking to my bed..there was a mess everywhere
• The clothes poured out and all so I'm left to arrange
• Tears welled up in my eyes as I fell on my knees
• A call came in as I picked my phone not even checking the caller
• "I'm really sorry but in a bad mood to talk" I said in a teary tone
• "oh..." that was the reply I heard and I dropped my phone down covering my face with my palms crying
• "Why!..that's the only expensive lariat necklace I have..its just $30,000 I managed to save and now you're missing..who took you and where did you go!" I cried out
• "did you have legs to walk away yourself? first my chicken and Chips so now you too...oh why is today just bad for me!" I cried
• Kylo POV
• I began to think Dahlia is acting.. or wait...did she know she hasn't hung up the call?
• is she crying for real??
• "I planned to eat the chicken tonight but you guys ruined my fvcking plan!!" she groaned with a little scream
• Maybe she isn't...
• "So now these mess...I have to arrange the room..oh dear God if father was here" she sighed
• "Dahlia?" I called but no reply
• "dahlia.. you there?" I asked a little louder
• She stopped whimpering.."huh?" I heard her say
• "jeez..still on call!!!" she exclaimed in shock and then cut off the line
• "so you didn't know you were?"
• Really funny...
• Dahlia POV
• I guess I just have to forget it for now or I get myself sick
• I ad no idea I was still on call and I don't even know the caller...that's true lemme see
• My jaw dropped immediately....."Kylo!" I gasped
• is it a curse to have embarrassing moments with you today!!!!
• Ahh!!!!
• I yelled and went to the bathroom to have a quick shower and as soon as I was done I stepped out and wore my night wear.
• a blue and purple shiny pyjamas on
• Immediately I went to get my note books and then luckily my uncle didn't call me neither did his wife did.
• I heard a loud knock on the door and frowned..."enemies of progress around I destroy you all" I clicked my tongue
• "who's there?" I asked this time louder
• "its me Dylan"
• "oh come in" I said immediately as he did
• "Hey...." I said as I turned to him with a smile. A fake one
• "its obviously fake.." he said
• "oh you noticed...." I laughed lowly
• "Yeah..."
• "why are you here?" I asked him lowly
• "its to apologize on the behalf of my sister and mom...I know what they did was not right" he said
• So he can be normal or is he the only normal human being in their family!
• "its okay...maybe your dad and mom are right..we are families anyways" I replied hating to repeat what she said
• "that makes no senses, its disrespectful" he replied
• "I hope you forgive them.."
• "sure why not!" I laughed
• "I can get you some chicken and chips tonight if you want" he smiled
• "ah no no thanks.. I'm fine" I replied
• "no that's not true..." he rolled his eyes
• "I'm being serious Dylan.. I'm fine" I replied with a slight laugh
• "okay...since you're busy with your assignments I guess we'll talk another time" he said with a cute side smile
• "sure we will..." I replied as he winked at me and left
• "eh?"
• "oh I'm so sorry.. I've been trying to stop it!" he said immediately as I laughed out
• "its okay" I smiled since he is the only one I think Is reasonable
• "There are many things we still need to know about ourselves since we haven't sat down together since childhood" he said
• "yeah that's the truth..funny to know you have someone and haven't seen them up until now" I replied and sighed
• "yeah...so I'll leave now" he smiled as I waved at him as he left
• So he is gone and I have to finish up on time maybe I'll go find something to eat.
• I hurriedly finished up all notes and assignment in less than 4 hours and read my books a little
• or was evening already getting late..I need to eat before it's too late
• I got off my bed and tucked my legs into my bunny ear flip flops and dragged myself out of my room.
• Gosh.. I haven't put anything in my tummy since afternoon
• I headed downstairs and then could see all the family at the dining table eating
• "Ah..food is ready" I smiled and walked into the kitchen but all the pots were empty
• "Nothing remains?" I asked myself and walked back to the dining
• "Uhm.. uncle what about mine" I asked with a slight laugh
• He turned to his wife who gave an 'I don't care' look
• "Mom....?" Dylan nudged her
• She rolled her eyes...."its obvious nothing remains for you" Dacy shrugged
• "yeah I think so" daria added
• "Are you kidding me?" I scoffed
• "How's that possible?" Dylan asked
• "What?? Dylan what is it! there is no food for her and so?" Dacy yelled
• "in...my house?" I scoffed
• "then why are you here.... I..I don't even understand you all" I asked
• "what did you say? do you expect me to be preparing your meals? If you want to eat prepare your food..and one more thing its not your house anymore" The wife replied
• That's stunning again
• "The last time I checked it's my Fathers house" I replied anger boiling up in me again
• "Mom but its not right. At least prepare for all including her" Dylan said irritatedly
• I turned to my uncle. he didn't say a word.
• "if this is how its gonna go on..you better start packing up" I said in a teary tone and turned to leave but the moment I turned Dacy replied
• "You can't tell us what to do...."
• "you wish!" I gritted my teeth and was about to take a step further but heard my phone buzz
• A new message!
• And from Kylo..... "Hey Bunny! I'm outside your house hurry!"
• Huh?
• my house? my eyes went wide immediately as I texted back
• "are you kidding you better stop and leave if you're here" I replied
• "how heartless.. I'm gonna get a cold hurry!"
• "Fine I'm coming in"
• This time my eyes went wide..I turned back to look at them...and walked away
• "Dahlia!" Dylan called from behind but I ignored and walked out of the living room heading outside the house.
• I ran out through the door and was standing but didn't see anyone
• I walked to the gate and it was just a little fence and the gate but I didn't see anyone there.so I stepped out standing by the roadside... its an estate but a really quiet one.
• I could only see streetlights...
• "where the heck are you?" I bit my lips and stood for sometime bit saw nothing and so I turned to leave
• "Dahlia!" I heard my name from behind as I froze....that was perfectly Kylo voice.
• I turned back immediately and saw him standing with his hands at his back
• How come I didn't notice his car...I forcefully let out air through my mouth and rolled my eyes walking to him
• "Mr man why are you here?" I asked as I stood before him
• He slowly took down his facemask... and smiled at me
• "why won't I be here...I heard you crying over the phone" he replied
• "oh that..well I wasn't crying anyways" I replied
• "You wish..even now your eyes are teary" he said as he lifted my chins staring into my eyes
• I froze and gulped down.."its awkward stop it!" I said and slapped his hands away putting on a frown
• "Kylo..don't give me hard time" I added
• His eyes ran down my body making me feel uncomfortable
• "Hmm nice pyjamas and flip flops just Like you" he smiled
• "yeah yeah you too nice sweatshirts. but why did you cover your hair.. are you___?" I trailed off
• "trying to disguise? yep! you know some eateries can be disturbing" he said
• "hmm you went to an eatery?" I asked him as I scanned him all through too
• In a black sweatshirt and also a black shorts on a white Nike shoes
• "even the shoe?" he chuckled
• "well yeah.." I replied and laughed a little
• Dylan POV
• Dahlia didn't come back and it made me think.."what are you planning on?" my mom asked me
• "going after her?" Dacy scoffed
• "looks like you guys are failing to understand you're under her family property, its all hers and you have no rights in it why don't you be nice to her!!" I replied irritatedly and left the table
• "Dylan get back here...your food is here!" my dad yelled
• "keep it to yourself.. I'm not eating" I yelled as I went to the door heading out of the house too in search of her
• "dahlia?" I called as I ran out but didn't see her anywhere
• "Dahl__" I paused the moment I saw her standing with a guy before her
• He gave a slight laugh out and then she stood in akimbo
• "Kylo... thanks for coming! and next time don't gimme such shock" she replied pointing at him
• "I did? you missed me that's why" he replied
• "why would I? I've got Riley.. duh!" she scoffed with a slight laugh
• "Riley can't be everything to you" he replied
• "whatever...I want to sleep now" she replied with a sigh
• "had dinner yet?" he asked
• "ah..no...." she replied
• "Why?" he exclaimed as he pulled cheeks
• "ah!" she laughed and slapped his hands away
• "not hungry..." she shrugged
• "I know you...you're lying! I heard it all on the phone and you only had bagels in school.. why don't you come home with me, I'll have the Butler prepare something really nice for you" he replied
• She sighed and pulled his cheeks.."I'm never gonna go to your house!" she laughed
• "why?"
• "if you want me to come..say it directly not why don't you!, easy to say "'Dahlia I'm bored please can you come over at least for an hour' ..thats how you'll say it" she mimicked him as he chuckled
• "do you think an hour would be enough with you? if you come it will be for the whole day or week" he laughed
• "you wish...I'm going in now..its late..I wonder how you got out" she replied
• "Forget my identity... background and all...I can have what I want for myself. I'm not like Victor that's been given curfew..." he laughed
• "Victor is the only son of his family and the first.. what do you expect.. with all his background why would his family want to lose the next heir to dreame high college! why would they!" she laughed
• Seems Victor has a strong background..
• "yeah yeah..and me? you know me too well already and I'm not given curfew... he still acts childish that's why.." he replied
• "well maybe yeah" she rolled her head with a shrug
• "goodnight Kylo.. thanks for coming over.." she sighed
• "yeah..you came out with an ugly look but you see! you're smiling now..your face is more bright but what happened in there?" he asked
• "huh? nothing.. was busy" she replied with a laugh
• "you're gonna keep me outside late!" she said as she was about to leave but then he held her hands and got off the car he was leaning on
• "You losed your chicken and chips... here I know you haven't eaten anything since noon" he said as he brought his other hand from his back and stretched it to her
• "what...what's that!" she stammered
• he took her hand in and put it into her hands
• "Go and eat and have a good sleep" he smiled as he took down the stuff over his head
• "Kylo... I..how...how did you know?" she stammered again
• "I know you more than they do..even more than yourself!" he laughed as she did too
• "Thanks" she said softly to him
• He then walked to her and pulled her head to his chest.."don't hesitate to call me next time" he said
• She didn't reciprocate the hug..she stood still an he pulled away not after few seconds
• "Uh..bye" he smiled
• "you leave first!" she replied as he winked at her
• "I'm gonna tell Victor tomorrow.." he laughed
• "you'll only cause a little argument between yourselves!" she groaned
• "yeah yeah..goodnight dummy!" he laughed
• "honestly I prefer bunny to dummy!" she laughed as he got into the car and waved at her
• "be careful on the road..its late" she sighed
• "yeah good night" he said as he drove off slowly
• She stood there for sometime and smiled at the bag in her hand.."let's see what you bought" she giggled and walked in but froze the moment she saw me
• "Oh..Dylan"
• "where did you go..let's go in" he said
• "ah...no..uh.. nothing" she said probably confused and left ahead of me
