Chapter 4

  • In the dining hall, the crystal lamps illuminated the silver knives, forks, and chopsticks. Those plates were so delicate. And the food on them all smelled good and looked delicious.
  • The round table was very big. Derek sat on one side and Serina was on the other.
  • His aura was noble, graceful but also dominant. No one dared to get close to him without permission. The servants standing around lowered down their heads slightly, being at their boss's service.
  • Serina was on pins and needles and she took occasional glances at Derek. His face was extremely charming. His facial features were as exquisite as carvings. He had dashing eyebrows, bright eyes, a straight nose, and sexy thin lips.
  • His features were a little similar to Ernest's, but Derek looked like an emperor. As for Ernest, he was more of a cute and attractive boy.
  • "Not to your liking?" Derek asked as he had the steak without looking up.
  • Serina looked around. If there weren't only servants around, she wouldn't know that Derek was talking to her.
  • "Well... Could you ask them to leave? I don't feel comfortable with so many people around." Derek nodded at the butler beside him. Then the butler ordered the servants to leave immediately. Only Derek and Serina were left in the dining hall.
  • Serina let out a sigh of relief.
  • "Do you get used to here?" Derek spoke again. His voice was as cold as ever.
  • "Well... Kind... Kind of." Serina didn't know how to talk with such a distant man. "Well, Great De..."
  • Serina shut her mouth at once. She heard Ernest addressed his uncle the Great Demon King all the time. So this title was on her lips when she tried to call Derek.
  • "Well, Mr. Derek..."
  • "Just call me Derek." Derek raised his head and his black eyes looked into Serina's. "Or you can call me honey."
  • Serina was petrified.
  • She stared blankly at Derek. They didn't look like they were getting divorced. They looked like a real couple instead!
  • Ernest was wrong about this!
  • "Well," Serina was not used to that, "I'll call you Derek then."
  • "Sure."
  • "And...." Just as Serina was about to negotiate with him, Derek stood up, saying, "I'm full. Take your time."
  • "What?" Serina turned her eyes at Derek's plate and found it was already empty, while her mind was wandering just now, so she didn't eat much.
  • "I'll go to the study. You can do whatever you want."
  • After that, Derek left.
  • "What a weirdo!" Serina put her head on the dining table. “How come he didn’t mention anything about the divorce? How am I supposed to negotiate with him?”
  • In the study.
  • The bookshelves spiraled up, full of modernity. Thick books on the shelves smelled like knowledge. On a curved table placed three computer screens.
  • Derek wasn't reading, and the computer was off.
  • He couldn't do anything now!
  • When he was in the UK, he thought of nothing but Serina, even in his dreams. Before he met her, he was a highly organized man. This was the first time he made a last-minute decision to come back two days earlier.
  • Somehow, he seemed to have been mesmerized by her.
  • Derek then heard someone talk outside the door.
  • "Ms. Serina, Mr. Derek doesn't like to be disturbed when he was in the study." This was Henry, Derek's butler.
  • "Oh, I just want to give him some dessert." Serina's sweet voice came into Derek’s ears.
  • "Ms. Serina, Mr. Derek doesn't like dessert, and he will never have this."
  • Just as they were speaking, the door of the study suddenly opened. All the entrances here could be controlled by remotes. That meant Derek opened the door for her.
  • Henry got his point, "Ms. Serina, please."
  • "Okay." Serina poked her head in.
  • Derek's face was hiding behind a thick book. He raised his head, saying, "What?"
  • "Oh, I just want to ask if you want some dessert. It tastes good, so I brought some for you." Serina walked in with a small plate in her hand.
  • "Bring it over." Derek didn't look up.
  • Serina walked to the table with the plate and found there was only one chair in that room, which Derek was sitting on.
  • She placed the plate on the table and handed a fork to him, "Here you are."
  • Not even looking up, Derek did not take it and just said, "Feed me."
  • "Hey!"
  • He was an adult! Why did she have to feed him?
  • Before she dropped the fork and left, something Ernest had said occurred to her: Derek could be violent, so she had better not irritate him.
  • Besides, it wouldn’t be wise to upset him before the talk. To gain more from the negotiation, she had to let this one slide.
  • Serina reluctantly took a piece and sent it to Derek's mouth. However, he did not open his mouth. Instead, he turned another page.
  • A disaster happened just as Derek was about to eat it.
  • It fell!
  • Serina looked down and found it fell to nowhere but Derek's trousers!
  • Seeing that, Derek frowned.
  • When Serina saw his face, she realized that something was wrong, "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry!" She immediately reached out her hand to clean it.
  • Serina cleaned Derek's trousers with her hands, not realizing anything wrong with this.
  • Her hand brushed Derek's thigh again and again.
  • Then, Serina noticed Derek's subtle changes.
  • She realized that she got too close. Embarrassed, Serina wanted to take her hand back, but her wrist was grabbed by his hand.
  • "You are a thirsty woman, aren't you?"
