Chapter 41

- I was lying down on the L-shaped sofa, with my feet up and my head propped against the scatter cushions, aimlessly toying with a fidget-spinner between my fingers.
- I sent a longing glance at my phone, waiting for it to buzz with a call or text from you-know-who, but it remained silent, mocking me as I pressed myself into the black leather of the sofa. I have shown up at her apartment a couple of more times but she wouldn’t let me past the door. I thought by now I would have at least chipped some of the ice around her heart but-no such luck.
