• As I watched Matamoros walk away, guilt clawed at my heart. The realization of how I had unintentionally hurt him hit me like a ton of bricks. "Wait!" I yelled after him, my voice choked with tears.
• Matamoros stopped, and as I caught up to him, I couldn't hold back the flood of emotions. I wrapped my arms tightly around him, tears streaming down my face. "I never meant to treat you this way. I'm sorry if I sounded ungrateful."
