• Today's office has been a mess, with gossip everywhere, David asking me not to file a lawsuit against Stanford, a potential break on the ongoing project. It all took a toll on me, especially the sleepless night I had yesterday.
• I reach the cottage and walk straight to Emily's room. The door is open and she's fast asleep, the nurse sitting beside her phone. It's too late and I believe the nurse did her job by feeding Emily and giving her the medicines.
