• She took the baby away and left him in an orphanage, somewhere really far away that his parents would never be able to trace him. She was already pregnant at the time.
• She couldn't hurt an innocent baby. She was afraid the baby in her belly would be hurt too. Besides, he was Richard's baby after all.
