Chapter 8 Eight

• Nick let Sanaya go easily. Strange! He acted as if he believed her, he didn't utter any more words. She had a smile on her face as her task was accomplished.
• "Are you sure he believed you? I think he'll come back soon.", Clara asked her, she couldn't believe she just fooled someone like Nicolas Davis.
• Sanaya had a sinister smile as she shot, "Of Course he did. I am good at lying after all."
• "You? Good at lying? I think I have heard it wrong. The Sanaya I know is bad at lying. And the idea of yours. I don't think someone like Mr. Nick will buy it.", Hearing Clara her smile fed away.
• It was not like she did not think of it. And true to say, she was a bit upset when she saw he gave up, he told her to go.
• "Don't think too much. He might believe it. I was just kidding.", Clara could not see her sadness. She just wanted to console her but deep down she had a bad feeling that he was about to get back to Sanaya again. To make her feel better Clara got up and she was about to say something when Sanaya got a message.
• All of a sudden Sanaya screamed louder that made Clara cover her ears with both of her hands. Sanaya hugged her tight suddenly, "I am selected. Yeh, I am selected."
• "Huh? Wow, congrats! Buddy.", When Clara and Sanaya were so happy, they decided to celebrate it. Clara called her friends in her house to celebrate Sanaya's job acceptance. Sanaya was way over the top as she was selected. She did not even think of Nick, she forgot what she heard before when Nick called someone in front of her during the interview.
• Everything was prepared, Clara's friends started coming to her house. Daniel was there too. When they were all talking about Sanaya's new job someone knocked at the door.
• "I'll check who it is. You guys continue.", Clara said, and getting up she went to open the door. As she opened the door she was super surprised. Before she would say something to the man at the door asked her, "Is Sanaya inside?"
• "Yes, she is…", Clara answered subconsciously. He walked in there. "What the heck! Why did I let him get inside? Now, Sanaya is going to kill me." Clara ran behind him when Kyle followed behind. Sanaya was happy until she saw the man. As soon as she saw him she had a poker face. But people around her were amazed, their faces lightened up as they saw him.
• "What are you doing here?" Sanaya asked him. Except for Clara, everybody started gossiping, they thought she probably knew him and the tone she was using to talk to him made it more clear when the man and Sanaya were looking at each other.
• They reached Kyle. Kyle handed everybody gifts saying, "My boss bought some gifts for everybody, he wants to…"
• Sanaya could guess why Nick was there with Kyle. "Follow me." She walked out of there and Nick followed her.
• "Sanaya, stop.", Nick held her hand from behind. She looked at him with a poker face, "What do you want now?"
• "I want you to think about our marriage.", Said he.
• "I remember I told you that I have a boyfriend, how can I marry another man…", she was interrupted by him as he said, "Ok. May I know the name of your boyfriend?"
• "It's… it's Virat.", She was not in a relationship with a guy. She thought Nick would believe her but she didn't expect him to ask her about his name.
• "Are you sure?", As he asked she nodded her head, "Yes, I am."
• "Virat was your would be but you ran away from home so the wedding was called off. After that you didn't date anybody which means I don't have a love rival.", Sanaya was stunned to hear him. She could think of only one thing and it was how he got to know everything? And in such a short time? When Sanaya told him about her being in love with someone else he definitely didn't know anything or why would he stay quiet? She thought.
• "Who told you these?", As she asked him Nick smiled, "Do you think if I want to know about something then I need someone to tell me? Don't you think I can easily know about it if I want to?" She swallowed and turned around.
• "So now what do you want to say?", Nick asked her.
• Sanaya didn't think of it before, yeah he was a wealthy businessman. If he wanted, of course, he could know about her. She hit her head gently, "Why didn't I think of it? So silly I was!"
• "Are you ok?" He thought she might be angry so she wanted to beat herself up.
• "I am ok,'' she said, biting her lips. "I should make a new story to reject him. But what to say?"She started thinking. Heaven to hell, she could do anything just to make him leave her alone. Lol.
• "Ok… then…", interrupting him she said quickly, "I still can't marry you."
• "Why not?", He was sure that she wouldn't be able to reject his proposal but still he wanted to give her a full chance to play around until she would hurt herself.
• "Because… ahh… yeah, you know… our religion is not the same. I am a Hindu girl when you are a Christian guy.", When she said it he didn't seem to get touched as he narrowed his eyebrows and raised a question, "So what?"
• "What do you mean so what? We are from different religions so we can't get married.", She explained.
• "I don't care about these. Religion has nothing to do with our marriage.", He retorted, sounding like he gave the last command. She protested, "Of Course it has. How can you marry a girl of a different religion? Even if you don't care, think about your parents. They won't agree…"
• "I don't have parents. They died long ago. And if you think about my family then don't worry. My family will accept you.", He dismissed. She started again, not so easy to get suppressed, "I'm sorry about your parents… but you can't say that. See, everybody in our family expects that we will marry someone who will be the same as us. Even though they…" he sighed saying, "I don't think so. As long as you are happy, your family will be happy with you. If they want the best for you then they are supposed to let you marry someone who loves you and who can take care of you, not someone who is the same as you but he doesn't love you, what if you get hurt later?"
• "Why would I get hurt?"
• "Think a girl is marrying a man from the same religion, same background but they don't have that chemistry between them. If he ends up getting in an affair then what will the girl do? Being happy that her husband has an affair with another woman? Or being happy, knowing that her family has chosen the wrong person for her? Maybe she will just think that's her fate. Does it make sense?"Sanaya was silent when Nick explained it. Right, her family chose Virat for her but she never loved him. Sometimes she would think, how would she stay with a man whom she doesn't love. Maybe there could be a chance that she would fall in love with him after marriage like they used to tell her but what if… what if she wouldn't? Then?
• "Sanaya, I don't believe in fate. I believe in myself. I don't care about religion or background or status. I just want you and that's all I need.", He held her hand gently. She looked up, "What if he is not the right one for me?... I… I never thought of marrying a foreigner, he is not only from a different religion but he feels like he is from a totally different world. I don't feel like I can adjust in his world… marrying a Christian guy? My family will kill me. And there… and I am alone here. I have only Clara and nobody else. This man is like a star when I can only touch the ground to look at him, what if he… he breaks up with me later? I'll have no way to turn around…"
• "Sanaya?"Nick called her name as he saw she was thinking of something.
• "Ahh? Ohh."
• "You seem lost. What are you thinking of?", He asked.
• "Nothing… I can't marry you. Please don't come here to find me again.", Saying so she moved her hand and turned around when Nick said, "If you don't want to marry me, you must give me a solid reason or I won't be able to disappear from your life. So tell me, what's your reason?" Sometimes cold, sometimes caring. Nick was back to a cold-hearted stone again as he asked her. His calm eyes met her beautiful big eyes.
• Sanaya really thought that he was melting but no, never mind. Sanaya had to use a little trick. She smiled, "Sorry, Mr. I won't marry you at any cost. NO WAY!"
• "Actually I had to lie that I have a boyfriend because I didn't want to say the truth but… seems I have to say it now.", She said, sounding sad.
• "Truth? What is it?", As he asked she said while smiling menacingly," Actually I… I am interested in girls, not boys so…"
• "What???"Nick was shocked for a moment to hear that when she was smiling sinisterly, lowering her head and trying not to burst out in laughter.
