Chapter 36 Checking Souls Ⅱ
- *Alberto’s POV*
- I made sure to slip out of my bedroom before my angel woke up. I knew she’d give me shīt for the new orders I had put in place, but I wasn’t risking her safety. As I made my way to my office, I dialed Francisco’s number. If I knew my brother like I knew I did, he hadn’t gotten a wink of sleep.
- Within the first ring, he was snapping at me over the phone. I let him let it all out, groaning in annoyance. He was the only one that could talk to me like that because anyone else would be six feet under by now. We both put up with a lot of shīt from each other because in our minds we were brothers. Brothers fight on the daily, but we’d kill for each other regardless of how mad we were. Yet we have never had as many problems as we have now.
