Chapter 137 Dalton the Poor

Fiona couldn't argue, not when her mother was trying to reason with her. She'd rather Marika yell at her. At least she could defend herself and feel no guilt. Her mother had worked very hard over the years, and all for the family. But she could never forget about Dalton, not even if her mother forced her to. Three long years had gone by, and they hadn't even met once. Yet she couldn't forget about him. She could still remember the moment she saw Dalton after he saved her like it was yesterday. Love wasn't something she could control.
She had a lot of suitors in college. Evergreen had the best students from all over the world, and many of them were better than people like Joseph, yet she felt nothing. Her heart didn't even flutter for them, but it raced when Dalton told her he would be coming to Kamfoen. "I know you've been working hard, and I know you want the best for me, but I just can't forget about him." She hugged her mother, crying.
"It's alright, it's alright. We'll be seeing him and see how things go." Marika patted Fiona's back. I'll have to convince Dalton that my daughter's too good for him and make him back off.
