Chapter 9 Audition Crisis
- Su Ruoyun.
- Even before making her formal debut, Su Ruoyun already had the poise of a star. Her manager led the way, and two assistants followed closely behind.
- And she?
- She sauntered in wearing sunglasses.
- Su Luoli had just come out of the restroom when she saw Su Ruoyun, and she paused and retreated back in. She had no wish to encounter Su Ruoyun here.
- Su Ruoyun's entourage attracted the envy of many actors who were present for the audition.
- "Ah, have you heard? Su Ruoyun is the future Young Madam of Yixin International. This audition is just going through the motions. But her role is the second lead, nothing to do with us."
- "Thank goodness there's no competition with us. Otherwise, we came here for nothing!"
- "Yes, yes. She was able to capture Young Master Murong. She'll be famous in the future. Ah, we can work hard, but there's nothing better than a rich and powerful husband!"
- Su Luoli could not help but feel sad listening to their conversation.
- If time was turned back a year, that would all have been hers, and she would not be auditioning here.
- Su Luoli stared in the mirror, touching up her makeup, then gathered herself back to her previous calmness.
- The first and second lead were the most important roles in the show, so the audition venue was separate from the other roles. Su Luoli was relieved. She would not need to see Su Ruoyun.
- Even though Su Ruoyun was her half-sister by the same father, every time she saw her, her mind was filled with the image of Murong Yi and Su Ruoyun entwined in bed together. She could only feel disgust.
- There were about thirty people waiting to audition for the supporting actress role, all waiting together in the lounge.
- Some people were reading the character biographies sent by the production crew, while others chatted in groups.
- Su Luoli stood in the corner in contemplation.
- The other lounge.
- This was the lounge for the first and second lead roles, and the seating was high-quality sofas. There were not many people here, and Su Ruoyun glanced around at the competition. All of them were unfamiliar faces.
- Even famous artistes needed to audition, but since their schedules were very busy, they would schedule another time to meet with the director.
- While Su Ruoyun's career was being driven by Murong Yi, she was still a fresh debut with no great resumé or schedules to rush, so she could make the audition arrangements.
- Her assistant Huang Can carefully walked over and bent over to speak in Su Ruoyun's ear, "Yun, I saw Su Luoli just now."
- Su Ruoyun frowned. "Why is she here?"
- "For the audition. I checked and she's auditioning for the supporting role. She is not in competition with you."
- A disdainful look appeared on Su Ruoyun's face. "Of course she's not competing with me. She doesn't even have a manager. There's no way she can audition for the good roles. However…"
- Su Ruoyun curled her finger at Huang Can, and she immediately bent to listen to Su Ruoyun. The two whispered for a while.
- "Yun, there's no need. It's not like she has the ability to fight for the role, and even if she did, her supporting role would never be as good as yours. In this show, the second lead has many scenes as the first."
- "What do you know? Su Luoli is not a simple person. If she puts her mind to it, she will be my greatest enemy. Do as I say!"
- Huang Can nodded.
- In this lounge, Su Luoli was still preparing herself. All the actors came out of the audition with defeated looks.
- This made her more nervous.
- Two assistant directors were auditioning this supporting role, not Director Lin Chuan, and it was already very tough. They heard that after passing this audition, they still had to pass Director Lin Chuan's audition.
- Suddenly, someone knocked on the door and everyone raised their heads to see who was in the doorway.
- It was a person dressed as a crew member. As there were many people auditioning, there were many crew members present today to prevent chaos.
- "Who is Su Luoli?"
- Su Luoli frowned but stood up. "I am."
- "Come out a moment."
- Su Luoli walked over suspiciously. The crew member pulled her aside and looked her up and down. "You're Su Luoli?"
- "Yes, is anything the matter?"
- "Well, it's like this. Director Lin has looked through your profile and is quite interested in you. He wants to meet you alone." The crew member smiled at her.
- This surprised Su Luoli. "But my profile is pretty empty. Why would Director Lin be interested in me?"
- If it was looks, as an actor, everyone was beautiful. If you were not naturally beautiful, there was plastic surgery!
- If it was experience, she only played bit roles previously and had nothing outstanding to show!
- "That's why Director Lin wants to see you! I'm sure you know of Director Lin's temperament and how the Director likes fresh faces in the entertainment industry because there is so much potential there. Other profiles have been bulked up, but yours is the cleanest. That's why Director Lin is interested."
- "But…"
- This person was right, Director Lin Chuan was famous in the industry for liking rookies, but Su Luoli's heart still had reservations.
- This was a bit too lucky, right?
- "But what? Are you letting go of this excellent opportunity? Let me tell you, all the auditions today are just going throyghe motions. Most of the roles have already been decided. If you don't go, you'll have made a wasted trip."
- Su Luoli bit her lip. Even though this industry was a mess and there were all sorts of unspoken rules, perhaps she could still take a look?
- If she really came up against an unspoken rule, they could not force her!
- She could still decline!
- At this thought, Su Luoli nodded. "Okay, I'll go."
- "Alright then, follow me."
- The crew member led her away.
- Su Luoli was unfamiliar with the studio, and could only follow behind the crew member. After some twists and turns, she could no longer remember the route they took, and they had not arrived yet.
- She could not help but be suspicious.
- "Excuse me, where is Director Lin's room? Why haven't we arrived yet?"
- "Don't talk so much, girl. How could a great director like Director Lin have a random room? It's a room that's hidden."
- "Oh…"
- Su Luoli did not think too much and continued following the crew member.
- More twists and turns and she had completely forgotten which way they had come. She only knew they were in the basement.
- It was not strange for a studio to have a basement, bigger studios even had several basements.
- Down here, the lights were off and it was dark. Su Luoli looked around uneasily.
- They arrived at a pair of red double doors and the crew member pointed at them.
- "Right, we've arrived. Go in there."
- "You're not going in?"
- "I'm not here to audition. I have other things to do. Go." He pushed the door open.
- Su Luoli shuffled her way to the open door and had just poked her head through the doorway when she felt someone push her from behind. She fell to the ground.
