Chapter 43 Lila's Encounter
- The morning sun penetrated through the windows in my room, and the sparrows perched on the trees while chirping. The continuous chirping woke me up from my sleep, and I rubbed my sleepy eyes as I pulled my sheets away and walked to the window. I noticed that another car had taken the spot where Ian's car had been parked the night before.
- I turned my phone on after unplugging my phone from its charger, and notifications began to flood in. There were notifications from Ian, Sean, and Neil. I responded to Neil's missed call first. "Hey, Mr. Huff!"
- "I bet you just woke up, Miss Landon." Neil's voice sounded different from usual, and he seemed in a good mood. "Yeah. I was rather tired last night, so I turned my phone off before going to bed," I explained.
