• A horrible, stabbing pain pierced my neck, and I couldn’t scream. It was as if someone had jabbed me with two daggers made of ice. The vamp siphoned my blood into his throat, and my head grew dizzy. His arms crawled around my back and held me tighter to his body. Just as I was beginning to pass out, he pulled away. His scarlet eyes grew bright with my stolen life’s blood.
