Chapter 6 (Second Story Of Terror) My Grandmother's Necklace

  • It’s been a week since his mother dropped him off at his grandmother’s house in the province. His mom was leaving to work abroad, and he would be left in the care of his grandmother, who lived alone in the countryside. Her other children had families of their own. His father had abandoned them for another family, leaving only his mother to provide for him. Having grown up in Manila, this was his first time living in the province. He had visited his grandmother once before when he was four years old, but he barely remembered it.
  • Classes were starting the following week. Thankfully, his grandmother managed to enroll him in time. She brought him to the school, and because her house was so remote, they had to walk for nearly an hour to get there. Their nearest neighbor was a 15-minute walk away.
  • The area was so remote that electricity hadn’t yet reached it. That evening, as they ate dinner by lamplight, his grandmother spoke to him.
