Chapter 2 But How Rude
- Chapter 2
- But how rude...
- Narrated by Amy
- When I got close to the great hall, the noise bothered me and I decided not to go in yet, instead I went to the garden. I take a deep breath, I love this scent that exudes from the flowers, the countryside as far as the eye can see, the beautiful fruit trees that we have all over the property. At the back, you can see the stable and even a little further away, you can see the stream that passes swiftly and always in a hurry. I step back a little and look at the huge mansion in front of me, this is where I was born, this is where I grew up, this is where my dear mother died.
- I lower my eyes and a tear falls. I look up again and carefully wipe my face. I decide to walk a bit, but my high-heeled sandals sink into the dirt, I take them off and carry them in my hand, ahh, that's better.
- When I get close to an apple tree, I see that the apples are ready to pick, I smile and stretch, but I don't get there.
- I look at the apple and say:
- -Don't think I won't get you - I laugh to myself for talking to the apple, crazy lol.
- I climb the tree a little but the dress takes away my usual movements, I usually do this, but with normal clothes.
- As I stretch a little further, I hear a voice that startles me and makes me fall.
- -What are you doing hanging there like a monkey? - says the voice sounding like a thunderclap.
- As I fall, my tail hits the floor and my dress rises well above my knees. Lying on the floor with my legs exposed and barefoot, I'm a pretty figure.
- The man in front of me picks up the fallen apple as well.
- He's very tall, a good 1.90 cm, light brown hair and green eyes, he's handsome, very handsome, oh shit, too handsome.
- I get up quickly and adjust my dress and hair.
- Amy : -Was it necessary to scare me that way? - I say as I snatch the apple from her hands.
- -I knew I was going to be scared - says the man - I was hanging there.
- Amy: -And he called me a monkey - I say indignantly - how impolite.
- He looks at me reproachfully.
- -The girl lacks manners - he says angrily - where has she seen herself walking around hanging in the trees!
- That man is driving me crazy.
- Amy :-You are very rude indeed - I start to get away from that idiot. Who does he think he is, to talk to me like that? Petulant is what he is.
- Once in the garden, I dust off my feet and put my high-heeled sandals back on and finally head to the party.
- The presentation doesn't go well...
- Narrated by Amy
- George: -But where have you been Amy? - asks my angry father.
- Amy: -Oh dad, you know how much these parties bore me - I say as I take a settee - the later I arrive, the less time I stay.
- George :-Amy, I've told you thousands of times that these parties are necessary, both for business, weddings, acquaintances, besides that your mother always wanted these parties to continue, even after she left, it was one of her wishes that I want fulfill in memory of her, you know that and you also know that in the absence of your dear mother, you have to accompany me. And where are you? Everywhere but here - he says annoyed - I have to have a good talk with Nani.
- Amy :-It's not Nani's fault, she sent me on time, I was the one who went through the garden, and I'll tell you more, you have very rude guests… - I don't finish the sentence because I'm interrupted.
- -Friend George - a very good looking man, he hugs my father effusively, it seems that they know each other very well.
- George :-Illustrious friend James - my father says as he returns the long hug.
- Ahh, they are really good friends, I have heard all my life about my friend James Harrison and his beautiful wife Grace, who were also present at my mother's deathbed.
- Grace :-But who is this beautiful and wonderful young woman? - asks a beautiful woman as she approaches.
- Finally, the men have left the hugs and my dad looks at me and introduces us.
- George :-This, my dear friends Grace and James - look at each of them while saying their names - is my dear and adorable daughter Amy - he says, putting his hands on my shoulders.
- I feel suddenly uncomfortable, I can't explain why.
- Grace: -My God George, she's really beautiful, she's perfect - says Grace looking at her husband with a huge smile.
- I feel like a mare about to be bought.
- I politely greet my father's friendly couple.
- Amy :-I am delighted to finally meet you, my father talks a lot about you - I say honestly. .
- James: -We left practically right after the… -Mr. James is suddenly silent.
- Amy :- You don't have to bother talking about it, I know they had to go back to France right after my mother died.
- Grace :-Yes, it was a sad thing - says Mrs. Grace - we were such good friends and seeing her leave so early still hurts me - she says, lowering her gaze.
- Amy :-I understand - I say - but let's enjoy the party, after all that's what they came for - I say to change the subject.
- They look at each other a little awkwardly.
- But how strange.
- James: -Yes of course - says Mr. James a little embarrassed - Ah, you're finally here - raises his arms as he speaks to someone behind me.
- I turn around slowly, and see that it's that nasty one in the garden.
- I roll my eyes in annoyance and go to insult that moron, when Mr. James introduces him quickly.
- James :-This is our son Alexander - he says vainly.
- Oh shit, I don't want to believe it.
- He looks at me with disdain in his eyes, and I stare back in the same way. But what an idiot.
- George :-Hello boy, I'm George - my father introduces himself all excited, I felt like screaming in anger.
- The Alexander guy finally smiles.
- Alex :-What a pleasure I have to finally meet you - he says very kindly, he doesn't even seem the same stupid as before - my parents talk a lot about you and your daughter, who by the way I've heard here at the party say she's beautiful - gives my father a huge smile.
- I blush from head to toe.
- George :-Oh my head - says my father - I introduce you to my beautiful daughter - take my shoulders again - Amy.
- He looks at me in surprise.
- Alex :-I like it Amy - he says trying to hide how nervous he is. He reaches out to mine to shake my hand.
- But as I am a sharp-tongued foul-mouthed, I will not miss the opportunity to punish him.
- Amy :-Don't bother to say hello to a monkey - having said that, I walk away from them, triumphant in life kkk.
