• "Valentine, all this talk about right and wrong, guilt and atonement... What am I supposed to do?" Althea looked at him with a mixture of confusion and desperation in her eyes.
• Valentine leaned back, his dark eyes searching her face. "You, Althea, are in a unique position. You have the power to make choices that others can't. I have given you a loophole of you not being greedy so it's left for you to make use of it. But what's most important is understanding what you truly want."
• Althea sighed, "All I want is to be free, to make my own choices and live without feeling like a puppet on strings."
