Chapter 6 : Reunion of Grandmother and Granddaughter
- Su Qingqing wore oversized sunglasses and crossed her arms as she walked over and circled around Su Yi. "You really have some skills now, no wonder you were able to snatch away my leading role. So, you've hooked up with Cen Nian, the big shot!"
- Su Yi furrowed her brows. "Do you have something to say? If not, get out of my way and stop blocking my path!"
- "The whole crew knows that you're still pretending..." Just as Su Yi raised her hand to hit her, Su Qingqing quickly stepped back a few steps. "But so what? In the end, you'll still have to obediently marry Song Xin. Dad has already discussed it with the Song family. You'll be getting married to Song Xin at the beginning of next month..."
- Su Yi forcefully pushed Su Qingqing aside and continued walking forward.
- "Don't think that just because you don't answer Dad's calls, he can't do anything to you. Dad said that if you don't come home, he'll make sure you never see Grandpa again!"
- Su Yi turned around and sneered. "He's my grandfather, your grandfather, and even Su Qishan's father. His own son doesn't care about him, so why should I, as his granddaughter, bother?"
- "You really are heartless. Grandpa has treated you so well, hoping that his good granddaughter would come back to see him, but you don't care about his well-being. Su Yi, you're so cruel!"
- Su Yi clenched her fist tightly, resisting the urge to beat up Su Qingqing, the idiot. She stared at Su Qingqing and said fiercely, "So Su Qishan forced me to come back, right? Fine, I'll go back. Don't blame me for being ruthless if anything bad happens then!"
- When Su Yi arrived at the Su family's house, the family was having dinner.
- Grandpa Su had just been brought back today, and when he saw Su Yi return, he excitedly stretched out his bony arm. "Yatou, you've finally come back. Come here, let Grandpa have a good look at you!"
- "Dad, can you not spoil the mood? We're all eating!" Bai Mei said discontentedly.
- Su Yi walked over and pushed Grandpa Su's wheelchair. "Grandpa, let's go to the room. Wu Ma, bring Grandpa's meal to the guest room!"
- "You child, why are you so impolite... Qishan, why don't you discipline him?"
- "We're all family, why divide the food into two households? Su Yi, sit down and eat together!"
- Su Yi felt disgusted when she saw Su Qishan's fake appearance. If it weren't for her being beneficial to him, he probably wouldn't have let her enter this door. Pretending and putting on airs, all because he wanted her to marry Song Xin!
- Pretending not to hear their words, Su Yi pushed Grandpa Su in the wheelchair straight into the guest room. Bai Mei grumbled outside, but she quickly closed the door so that Grandpa wouldn't hear.
- "Yatou!"
- "Grandpa!!"
- The two grandparents and grandchildren who hadn't seen each other for five years hugged each other and cried.
- Grandpa Su was seventy-nine years old this year and suffered from a serious heart disease. Because of his old age, the doctors didn't dare to perform surgery on him, so he had been receiving conservative treatment and relying on medication to sustain his life.
- Grandpa Su tightly held Su Yi's hand, staring at her with teary eyes. "You've become thinner!"
- "Being a bit thinner is good. Nowadays, being thin is considered beautiful. Being a bit thinner makes you look prettier!"
- Su Yi sniffled and spoke to Grandpa while placing three fingers on his pulse, diagnosing his condition.
- Grandpa Su couldn't help but feel delighted. "After not seeing you for a few years, my little girl has become skilled. You can even diagnose illnesses. But, I remember you studied acting abroad, not medicine!"
- Su Yi finished diagnosing one hand and moved on to the other. "I learned my medical skills from an old master. I'm not very proficient, but I can handle common minor ailments!"
- "That's not bad either. From now on, if anyone in the family gets sick, they don't need to go to the hospital. They can just come to you!" Grandpa Su looked at Su Yi, filled with pride.
- When Su Yi was young, both her parents, An Ran and Su Qishan, were busy, leaving only the two of them, the old and the young, in the house. Grandpa Su took care of everything, including eating, drinking, and going to the bathroom. Grandpa Su raised Su Yi by himself, so Su Yi was closest to him.
- If it weren't for the fact that she needed to treat her grandfather, Su Yi probably would never have returned to this place.
- "Yatou, how is Grandpa's illness? Can it still be cured?"
- Su Yi placed Grandpa's hand back, picked up the hot soup brought in by Wu Ma, and fed him while saying, "Don't worry, you can live for at least another hundred years!"
- Grandpa laughed heartily. "You always know how to make Grandpa happy. Grandpa is already eighty years old. If I live another hundred years, won't I become an old tortoise?"
- After saying that, he sighed and continued, "Grandpa isn't afraid of death. Grandpa is just worried about you. Your relationship with the family isn't good, and you're already grown up but still don't have a partner. If something happens to Grandpa one day, who will protect and take care of you?"
- "Grandpa, I've grown up. I don't need someone to take care of me as long as you're well..."
- While Su Yi was pouring out her heart to Grandpa, a loud knocking sound came from outside. "Su Yi, come out quickly. Young Master Song is here. Hurry up..."
- Su Yi slowly stood up. She knew that Su Qishan wasn't so kind as to let her come back for dinner. It turned out that he wanted her to go on a blind date with Song Xin.
- "Yatou, have a good talk with your father. Don't always argue!"
- Su Yi patted Grandpa's hand, letting Wu Ma feed him instead, and walked out of the room.
- "Young Master Song is here. Behave well... Look at you, you don't even know how to dress up... Let's go, don't keep Young Master Song waiting..."
- Su Qishan pulled Su Yi and walked out. Su Yi didn't resist and let him pull her.
- The Su family's dinner had already ended, and Song Xin sat in the living room, looking dignified, while Bai Mei accompanied him attentively.
