Chapter 4 ) Innocent Angel
- Somewhere in Shimla (India):-
- A little girl, Ten years old, was playing with her dolls. But suddenly she started sobbing and yelled, "Ammo! Ammo sees my doll has broken arms"
- A very elderly woman came and hugged her. She saw the broken arms of the dolls.
- "Oh my Angel, It's okay. I'll buy you a new one", the Elderly lady said
- "Really?", the little girl asked and her eyes were as big as soccer.
- "Yes", the Elderly lady gave her a sweet smile that caused her skin to scrunch.
- "Ammo! Why do you call me Angel?", the little girl asked.
- "Because you are an Angel. My Angel! Your mother's Angel", the Elderly lady said.
- "But Angel has white wings and a white gown", the Little girl spoke as she was curious to know about the Angel.
- "You also have wings but it's not visible for us to see", Elderly Lady who was the little girl's Ammo replied to her.
- "Huh? Ammo your words confused me because my name is AASHMAAN", the Little girl replied to her maternal grandmother.
- "Oh really then why are you calling me Ammo instead of Grandma (maternal Grandmother)", Ammo asked Aashmaan
- "Because Grandpa (maternal Grandfather) called you the same", Little Aashmaan said as her quick and witty answers were her strength.
- "That's because My name is Amruta and your maternal grandpa loves to call me Ammo", Aashmaan's Ammo said to her.
- "Hmm", Little Aashmaan thought hard.
- "Okay! It's late at night. Let's go to sleep okay you have your school tomorrow", Ammo tucked Aashmaan back into the bed and prepared herself for another hardship.
- .. ..
- .. ..
- Two days later at AASHMAAN's house:-
- "Why are you here?", Ammo shouted at the intruder whose sudden visit erupted a fear in her.
- "I'm here to see her", A man came in front of Ammo and demanded to meet little Aashmaan.
- "Don't come near her, understood? Firstly you ruined my daughter's life and you want to destroy my granddaughter's life. Never in my life, I will let you see her. not even her shadow", Ammo yelled at him.
- "You can't do this because she is mine and I came here to get her", That Man said calmly.
- And never did lose his calmness which made Ammo hate him more. Because of this man, She lost her beautiful young daughter named Anvrita. Aashmaan was three years old when her mother died or simply said the reason for her sudden death was suicide.
- Aashmaan's mother 'Anvrita' was eighteen and fell in love with a man. A man who was a powerful and wealthy person. He came to Shimla for his business and here he met Anvrita. Her beauty and innocence attracted him very much and Anvrita too got attracted to him and they secretly got married and soon she got pregnant and wanted to share with her husband but the problem arose when he disappeared from her life without telling her anything and just another day a wealthy looking woman came at her door and started accusing Anvrita. Poor Anvrita didn't know what was going on. Her parents were with her and protected her from that woman.
- That woman said her name was NISHA SURYANARAYAN and She was the wife of GAUTAM Suryanarayana.
- Gautam SuryaNarayan was none other than the same man with whom Anvrita secretly got married and carried his child. Anvrita's world shattered at the revelation that her husband was already married and had a kid. His wife came to know about his affair and came here just to threaten Anvrita to leave her husband otherwise she would kill her.
- Anvrita broke down and cursed herself for falling in love with him. Gautam left her all alone pregnant with his baby. Anvrita's parents support her and take her under their care. She gave birth to a baby girl whose eyes were the same as his father's. The deepest darkest brown eyes as Anvrita turned herself into a statue and forgot about her baby girl. Her parents knew about her mental condition as they took proper care of the baby Aashmaan. Anvrita's parents always protected her from society and gave love and care to her.
- And at last, Anvrita took her own life and left the world. After a few years, Aashmaan's grandfather also left them. Now little Aashmaan and her ammo were in their world together.
- But everything started to disturb Aashmaan's maternal grandmother when Aashmaan turned eight and her father came from nowhere and started claiming her as his daughter. Aashmaan's maternal grandmother always sends him back without letting him see his daughter but this time, he was back and wanted his daughter. She didn't want her little Angel to see the culprit of her life but she also didn't forget that she had only a few months to live.
- But would Gautam's family accept her as the daughter of their house ?'
- This question was disturbing her all the time.
- "Okay then I'll wait for your death", Gautam smirked wildly at the old lady.
- "What?", Ammo whispered panickedly.
- "Listen, You're Anvrita's mother that's why I am asking you to let me meet my daughter. otherwise, I'll have my ways. And yeah I forgot to mention that you're dying, right?", Gautam said and his words were making her dizzy. Dizzy in pain. The pain of her two precious daughters.
- Her face went pale.
- "I know that you are suffering from liver cancer and have a few months to live and do you ever think what will happen to your granddaughter after your death?", Gautam stated the fact and she fell on the floor and cried loudly.
- "I just want her because she is my daughter", Gautam said in a firm tone.
- "But you already have a child then why my Aashmaan? She is a very naive, innocent, and pure-hearted child", Ammo said to him.
- "I know this. She is just like her mother", Gautam murmured and closed his eyes.
- "What do you want?", Ammo asked him
- "I want my daughter to go with me", Gautam responded in a straight tone.
- "Where?", Ammo - Aashmaan's Grandmother asked as she didn't want her granddaughter to meet Gautam and his wife but her luck betrayed her.
- "New York", Gautam replied.
- "But she will not agree and most importantly she doesn't know anything about you", Grandmother said to him.
- "Then tell her about me and I will come to take her back", Gautam said as he just wanted his daughter back.
- Gautam left Grandmother with mixed feelings.
- .. ..
- Three Months later: -
- Grandmother's health was decreasing very fast and she knew that her cancer was eating her life. Only a few days were left in her life but her mind was trying to find a solution for her little Angel.
- In a week, Aashmaan would turn 11.
- Grandmother decided and called Gautam to come and get his daughter on her eleventh birthday.
- ... ...
- "Happy Birthday my ANGEL", Grandmother whispered in Aashmaan's ears and kissed her forehead lovingly.
- "Thank you Ammo", Little Aashmaan opened her eyes and smiled at her Grandmother.
- "Here are your birthday gifts", Grandmother gave her lots of gifts. Seeing her smiling brightly, her heart filled with happiness.
- Grandmother thought that maybe it was the last time when she saw Aashmaan all smiling or maybe it was the last time she gifted her toys.
- Grandmother packed Aashmaan's luggage. She puts on her clothes, her favorite doll, not to forget her teddy bears and most importantly she puts on the pictures of her mother and grandparents. She wrote important letters and matters in a small diary and hid in between Aashmaan's clothes.
- "Ammo! You're the best", Aashmaan started jumping on the bed when she saw her favourite doll and teddy bears. She just loved teddy bears and cuddles with them.
- "Angel, I want to tell you something", Grandmother said and Aashmaan was staring at her.
- "Yeah Ammo says", Aashmaan asked her grandmother.
- "Actually", Grandmother was telling her but suddenly the door knocked sounds made her stop her words.
- Grandmother opened the door and Gautam came in front of her.
- Aashmaan saw him and asked about him to her grandmother.
- "He is your father, ANGEL", Grandmother said
- "Oh okay", Aashmaan didn't know what to reply to her.
- "You're going with him", Grandmother said and Aashmaan stood frozen at her place.
- "Why?", Aashmaan asked her grandmother.
- "Because I am saying", Grandmother replied to Aashmaan.
- "But I don't want to go and leave you alone here", Aashmaan was crying silently
- Grandmother saw her tears and she wiped her tears and kissed her chubby cheeks.
- "I'll come in a few months", Grandmother lied to her because she knew that there would be no next time. Her time was up.
- "Promise," Aashmaan asked, and Grandmother was speechless so she changed the matter.
- "Ohh! I already packed your bags. You only have to go with your father", Grandmother said and moved away from her.
- "Ammo! I asked you something", Aashmaan was stubborn and Grandmother knew it very well.
- "What?", Grandmother asked her.
- "Promise me that you'll come", Aashmaan asked her Ammo to promise her.
- Grandmother hugged her.
- "My little Angel! Listen I'm sick and maybe this is the last time you're seeing me so remember you have to go with your father", Grandmother told her the truth.
- Aashmaan burst into tears.
- "I don't want to go with him and he is not my father. I only have Mummy, Grandpa, Ammo, and I", Aashmaan sobbed filling the room Grandmother hugged her little angel.
- Gautam's heart was bleeding when Aashmaan didn't consider him on her list.
- "Baby Go", Aashmaan's maternal grandmother said to Aashmaan who went to get ready for her new journey.
- "Please take care of her", Grandmother said to Gautam.
- "Aunty! if you want then I'll provide you with the best medical facilities", Gautam said to his grandmother.
- Grandmother chuckled bitterly at him and replied, "Just take care of my Angel. It'll be enough for me".
- Ammo hugged her little Angel and whispered in her ears, "Angel remember never disclose your secret to anyone. Understood"
- Aashmaan nodded and again Ammo whispered, "I put letters, pictures, and a diary for you"
- Aashmaan's maternal grandmother waved her hand and thought, "From here you'll fight alone for your existence in this Cruel world. I'll not be there for you but I'll never leave you to. I'll be there with you as a raindrop, as sunlight as darkness too. I love You"
- Aashmaan stood there and stared at her grandmother, her Ammo.
- Gautam cleared his throat and said, "We have to leave Otherwise we'll get late"
- And Aashmaan left her Ammo all alone in Shimla, India ...
- And went with her father to the US.
- Her new journey was going to start ...
