Chapter 22 Beside The Bunk
- Caught up in having every bit of the food down my throat, I did not pause before reaching for a second glass of water. But surprisingly, as I turned, I realised the glass was empty. I glanced towards the study table there. I caught Ryan's eyes briefly, but he quickly turned his gaze back to the papers on his study table.
- The constant clings of my silverware against the dish filled the room and for once, I did not mind.
- At that moment, as I ate up the carefully prepared meal, questions lingered in my mind. I yearned for answers as to what he intended to achieve by keeping me locked up in his chamber all day? He should just let me leave and maybe I would find a path through the woods that would lead me to my parents. But Ryan's stubbornness had grown beyond and his words were firm and not minced as to what he wanted.
