• Panic erupts as the man crumples to the floor, blood pooling around him. The crowd scatters, shouting and shoving, trying to get out of the line of fire. The room turns into a chaotic frenzy.
• The mystery man steps forward, calm and composed amidst the chaos. Now that the lights are on, there’s no mystery about the mystery man. I have seen him. Known him. Touched him. And the fact that he’s here despite everything I did to get away from him makes me want to curl into myself.
