Chapter 7 The Death Car

  • "Stop making a fool of yourself here! Come back with me!" Thomas was already so angry that he wanted to curse. He grabbed Yolanda's arm again and said, "Let's go!"
  • He used a lot of force, and this time Yolanda couldn't break free. She winced in pain and said, "Thomas, let go! I said I would flirt with him, and I mean what I say. Stop getting in my way."
  • Hearing her words, Thomas felt like his pride was being trampled on. As a man, his dignity ignited his fury.
  • He raised a hand and slapped Yolanda across the face. "You b*tch!"
  • Yolanda didn't dodge. She just closed her eyes and turned her face away.
  • The expected pain did not come. She opened her eyes and saw Thomas' raised hand caught by the strong grip of another man.
  • Sam used only half his strength and, with a slight push, sent Thomas stumbling a few steps, nearly causing him to fall.
  • "Hitting a woman is not something a man should do," Sam said coldly, glaring at him.
  • Thomas' face flushed with anger and embarrassment, yet he didn't dare show his fury. He respectfully lowered his eyes and said, "Mr. Sam, you're right. However, this woman is ... "
  • Sam mercilessly interrupted him, "I don't care who she is to you. Hitting a woman in front of me breaks my taboo."
  • Thomas was startled and quickly apologised, "I'm sorry, Mr. Sam. I'll leave right away!"
  • Although the Fords was one of the four major prestigious families in Jetown, Mr. Sam's rules did not care about anyone's status. The consequences of offending him were extremely frightening.
  • Thomas originally wanted to take Yolanda away with him, but he restrained himself due to Sam's icy stare. He withdrew his hand and warned Yolanda in a low voice, "Behave yourself!"
  • Yolanda sighed softly as she watched him leave.
  • Behaving was impossible.
  • The original character was so obedient. Even when Joice Baker, the mistress, privately arranged to meet and challenged her face to face, she didn't dare to tell Thomas.
  • "I'll have the driver take you back," Sam said calmly.
  • "No," Yolanda refused.
  • "Suit yourself," Sam said, then turned and walked away.
  • He wasn't a saint, and it was a rare gesture of kindness. If she didn't accept it, so be it.
  • "I don't want your driver to take me." Yolanda caught up to him and said clearly from behind, "I want you to take me."
  • Sam paused in his steps, then turned around, his lips curling into a half-smile. "Do you know what it means to ride in the same car with me?"
  • Yolanda shook her head. "I don't know."
  • Sam's deep and enticing voice took on a hint of danger, "The death car, dare to ride?"
  • Yolanda smiled, her lips curling. "Oh, I thought it was something serious. Why wouldn't I dare to ride? I'm not even afraid!"
  • "You better think it through, I'm not bluffing." Sam's deep and narrow eyes stared at her intensely. "In Jetown, as many people fear me as there are those who want me dead. By getting in my car, you could face a fatal outcome at any moment."
  • "I'm not afraid." Yolanda lifted her elegant chin, her lips red as rouge, proudly declaring, "I will protect you!"
  • Sam chuckled softly.
  • That was probably the funniest thing he had heard all year.
  • He could kill this slender and delicate woman with just a flick of his finger, yet she dared to boast that she would protect him.
  • ...
  • Yolanda followed Sam out of the night club and got into his black Maybach.
  • "Where do you live?" Sam asked.
  • "Bellevue." Yolanda gave the address of her apartment to the driver in the front seat.
  • The back seat was spacious. Yolanda leaned against the car window, not making an effort to get close to Sam.
  • The half-open window allowed the cool night breeze to blow in gently, which felt quite comfortable.
  • Yolanda quietly gazed at the scenery outside, letting the wind play with her long hair.
  • Sam narrowed his eyes slightly.
  • Perhaps due to the confined space, the rose fragrance on her became even clearer.
  • He had a naturally cautious nature. He leaned closer to her, took a sniff, and asked in a low voice, "What perfume are you wearing?"
  • Yolanda turned her gaze towards him, surprised. "What? I'm not wearing any perfume."
  • Sam's brows furrowed slowly, his gaze turning dark and dangerous.
