Chapter 1 He's in Such a Rush

  • "Madam, Mr. Ford is back, and he requested your presence downstairs." The maid knocked on the bedroom door before entering and conveying this message.
  • Yolanda Quinn, who was seated at her vanity, casually waved a hand while saying, "Tell him to wait."
  • The maid was surprised. "You want Mr. Ford to wait? That might not be a good idea ... "
  • Whenever Thomas Ford returned in the past, Yolanda would promptly hurry downstairs to greet him dutifully at the door.
  • What is going on today?
  • Yolanda brushed her long hair without much concern. "It's alright. You can go; it won't hurt him to wait a little."
  • The maid looked astonished. This was not the gentle and demure Mrs. Ford she was accustomed to.
  • Without saying more, she left the bedroom, as she decided not to probe.
  • Yolanda continued to examine herself in the mirror and shook her head in dissatisfaction. "What's with this outfit? And this makeup is making me look so much older."
  • She decided to remove the conservative, ankle-length black dress and went to the bathroom to cleanse her face. She also took the opportunity to take a shower.
  • The warm water flowing over her skin felt wonderful.
  • Leaning her head back, Yolanda saw her elegant jawline reflected in the steam-covered glass door.
  • The original character of this body was indeed beautiful, but she was overly restrained. She had tried too hard to be submissive and virtuous to please her husband.
  • She did not realise that men liked bad girls; they often found submissive women uninteresting by nature.
  • Despite a year of marriage, this man had never touched the original character.
  • This had caused the original character to fall into depression, a fact that was unknown to her husband.
  • She had overdosed on medication and died in the bathtub last night, unnoticed by anyone.
  • Poor girl ...
  • Yolanda sighed.
  • Fortunately, the intense obsession and resentment of the original character had been noticed by the deity of quick-transmigration, and so they allowed Yolanda to trasmigrate here to fulfil her wishes.
  • The desires of the original character were simple: She wanted her husband, Thomas, to regret, and she longed for true love, to be cherished and adored.
  • Leisurely, Yolanda finished her shower, wrapped herself in a white bathrobe, and began drying her hair in the bathroom.
  • The original character's hair was in perfect condition; it was untouched by dye or perm, and was black and shiny as it cascaded like a waterfall. However, since it was usually styled in an outdated bun, it did nothing to enhance her appearance.
  • Her fair, oval face wasn't breathtaking, but it was delicate and petite, with cherry lips and a small nose. Her large, almond-shaped eyes only needed a hint of eyeliner to become even more captivating.
  • Yolanda wasn't in a rush to meet her 'husband' waiting downstairs. Slowly, she applied a soft pink nude makeup and let down her long black hair, allowing it to flow over her shoulders. Only then did she descend the stairs leisurely.
  • On the first floor, in the Uropean-style decorated living room, a man in a finely tailored suit stood by the floor-to-ceiling windows, holding a cigarette between his fingers. His gesture of flicking the ash conveyed a hint of impatience.
  • Yolanda approached him slowly and remarked casually, "You're back."
  • Thomas turned towards her and scrutinised her appearance, frowning. "You came downstairs dressed like that?"
  • "What's wrong with what I have on?" Yolanda glanced down at herself. The white bathrobe was securely wrapped around her, revealing nothing inappropriate.
  • "As Mrs. Ford, don’t you understand the most basic etiquette? How could you just walk around in a bathrobe?" Thomas scolded her angrily.
  • "I can't wear a bathrobe in my own house?" Yolanda found his criticism absurd.
  • Don't forget the other woman you have fallen for does have any manners or grace.
  • "Forget it. I don't really want to talk to you anyway." Thomas, unwilling to argue further, gestured towards the documents on the coffee table. "Those are the divorce papers. Sign them."
  • Yolanda's lips curved into a slight smile.
  • Tsk.
  • He's in such a rush.
  • How long has it been since he met that woman at the All-Nighter Club? Two months? And he's already asking me to sign divorce papers because of her.
  • "If you refuse to sign, we'll proceed with legal action." Seeing her prolonged silence, Thomas assumed she was about to plead for reconciliation, so he decided to just pull the band-aid off. "I will handle explanations to both the Fords and the Quinns. I'll say we haven't been able to conceive a child."
  • The marriage was initially for business cooperation and naturally, for an heir to continue the legacy.
  • Since Yolanda hadn’t conceived, a divorce was justified.
  • "I can't conceive? Am I supposed to reproduce asexually?" Yolanda almost laughed in frustration.
  • A man's lack of shame can be truly astounding.
