Chapter 6 Unreliable Mom
- Noah has not returned for a long time.
- Ethan glanced at his watch. It had already been fifteen minutes. Noah had once again disobeyed his orders.
- Ethan's face turned black as he took out his phone and dialed Noah's number. "I'm sorry, the number you dialed is powered off. Please try again later," came the automated response.
- The air instantly solidified. Ethan's handsome face alternated between pale and dark, surrounded by a layer of cold air that sent shivers down the spine.
- He stood up and headed to the restroom.
- Meanwhile, Alexander had finished attending to his physiological needs and returned to the boutique supermarket, only to find no trace of Samantha and Charlotte.
- Unfazed, he calmly approached the cashier, "Hello, Miss, have you seen my mommy and sister? My mommy is very beautiful, with chestnut-colored hair, and my sister has two buns on her head, wearing a red dress."
- The cashier had a deep impression of Alexander and recognized him immediately. Over the years, she had never seen such beautiful twins, so she involuntarily looked at them a bit more.
- "Your mommy checked out and left ten minutes ago."
- Alexander exploded with anger; his little face turned bright red. He borrowed a phone from the cashier and called Samantha. He wanted to tell her, 'You left your son in the supermarket.'
- However, the call went straight to voicemail.
- "..."
- Alexander, feeling both angry and helpless, couldn't help but laugh. Speechless, he sighed in his heart.
- Ah...
- This must be the umpteenth time.
- His mommy was savvy and capable at work, but at home, she was always so absent-minded. Either she lost him or lost Charlotte.
- The most memorable incident was when Charlotte was two years old. Mommy took her to the supermarket and ended up leaving Charlotte there alone, coming back by herself.
- Until evening, she hadn't realized that Charlotte was missing.
- Later, the staff delivered Charlotte to the police station, and the police, using surveillance footage, found Mommy. Since then, both Alexander and Charlotte would have Mommy's phone number sewn into their clothes.
- Every time they went out, Alexander would tightly hold Charlotte's hand, fearing he might lose her and never find her again.
- His mommy is such an unreliable Mommy!
- Alexander reluctantly returned the phone, took the escalator down, and prepared to hail a taxi at the mall entrance. However, he was stopped by a group of black-clad bodyguards getting out of a car at the mall entrance.
- The lead man wore a crisp black suit, was in his thirties, and had a gold-rimmed glasses, refined yet sharp.
- The man with glasses looked anxious, and the moment he saw Alexander, he sighed in relief.
- "Young Master, we've finally found you. Hurry and come home with me. Your Dad might be lenient this time, just like last time, a day of house arrest without severe punishment."
- Alexander stared at them warily, "Who are you? I don't know you."
- The man with glasses whispered, "Young Master, don't throw a tantrum. Although your dad doesn't say it often, he cares about you. Between father and son, there shouldn't be lingering grudges."
- "Don't come any closer! If you come closer, I'll scream…"
- Alexander couldn't care less about his words, retreating step by step, hoping to find a chance to escape.
- Thinking Alexander was just throwing a tantrum, the man with glasses paid no attention and signaled to the bodyguards behind him.
- Following orders, one of the bodyguards picked up Alexander.
- Alexander's heart stopped in fear as he screamed, "Help! Kidnappers!"
- Unfortunately, he didn't finish his words before the bodyguard stuffed him into a Bentley parked on the side of the road.
- The Bentley sped away, leaving behind a trail of exhaust.
- Ethan followed closely, ready to drive home when he suddenly received a call from his good friend Nick Huston.
- "Ethan, Noah's medical examination report is out. Do you want to come over? I'll personally tell you about his condition."
- Ethan's narrow eyes suddenly contracted.
- "Bad news?"
- The person on the other end of the phone fell silent for a moment, hesitating, "Indeed not good! It's hard to explain briefly. Come over, and we'll talk when we meet."
- "Alright."
- Ethan hung up the phone, turned at the next intersection, and headed towards the largest private hospital in the city.
- At the hospital, Samantha listened to the doctor's words with disbelief written all over her face.
- "He has a severe stomach condition? How is that possible? I personally prepare all his three meals a day. Although he's a bit picky, I've never let him go hungry."
- The doctor adjusted his glasses and said, "The test results are accurate. I'll prescribe some stomach medicine for him. Remember, no overeating, eat smaller meals, and focus on a light diet."
- Although Samantha was reluctant to believe it, she had to accept this reality. She settled Alexander and Charlotte on a hospital bench and went to get the prescribed medication.
- Watching Samantha leave, Charlotte held Noah's hand with a guilty expression.
- "Brother, is your stomach hurting a lot? I'm sorry; it's all my fault. I won't snatch your food anymore."
- In her eyes, her brother had developed a severe stomach condition because she took away his food.
- Noah silently looked at Charlotte, and a quick flicker of excitement passed through his deep, black eyes.
- She and Alexander were fraternal twins, and they looked exactly like Samantha.
- So, there was a high possibility that she was his biological sister.
- Thinking about this possibility, Noah's small body trembled slightly.
- Thinking he might be cold, Charlotte opened her arms and hugged him. Her chubby little hands gently stroked his back. "Brother, are you cold? I’ll hug you..."
- A warmth he had never experienced before enveloped Noah.
- Unconsciously, his eyes reddened, and he slowly reached out to hug Charlotte.
- This feeling was really nice.
- He hoped to be with Mommy and his sister forever in the future.
- ...
- When Samantha returned with the medicine, a couple approached her.
- The woman had well-defined features, a small, mixed-race face, beautiful and charming like a blooming rose. The man wore jeans and a checkered shirt, with a subtle smile hanging on his lips. His shining eyes, appearing refined and elegant.
- Surprisingly, it was her childhood friends, Justin and Karen.
- Samantha was not ready to recognize them for now and subconsciously wanted to find a place to hide.
- However, Justin saw her first. His eyes widened in disbelief.
- "Samantha..."
- Samantha felt like her blood froze instantly. Seeing Justin approaching, she panicked and didn't think much. Without hesitation, she turned around and ran outside the hospital.
- "Samantha...!"
- Justin immediately chased after her.
- Outside the hospital was a parking lot, with a clear view to the end. Samantha had nowhere to hide. Just as Justin was about to catch up with her, a black luxury car suddenly stopped in front.
- Samantha didn't know what she was thinking, but before she could react, she had already opened the car door and slid into the passenger seat.
- In the cramped car, a powerful aura hit her. She turned her head and met a frost-covered handsome face.
- "..."
- The car was silent, and a cold air spread rapidly.
- Samantha, with a smile that was uglier than crying, waved and greeted him, "Hi, what a coincidence, we meet again."
- "Get out!" Ethan's handsome face seemed shrouded in dark clouds, his voice as if soaked in ice, chilling and terrifying.
- Samantha didn't want to face him either. She made an 'OK' gesture to him, opened the car door, and was ready to get out. However, she saw Justin walking towards her.
- She quickly closed the car door, huddled like a quail, rubbing her hands together, and begged Ethan, "Let me hide, just for a little while, please..."
