Chapter 13 He's Gay?!

• Qi Yushi scanned the script - woah, it’s the script for the second female lead of “The Swordsman”, and the audition is in three days’ time!
• “The Swordsman” was based on a wuxia novel by a famous author - no only was there avid readership, the investment that had been poured into a television adaptation had also been a hefty sum - it was definitely a valuable role that Danni had no doubt worked hard to clinch the opportunity for on her behalf.
• Qi Yushi was moved. “Danni, you are such a dear.”
• How did that saying go again...of ten Jennies, nine of them are gay - the last one’s just yet to come out of the closet.
• The person standing before me is no exception.
• Danni has always been looking out for me - he’s one of the dearest people to me in my heart.
• Just then, Danny huffed. “There’s an artist meeting held by the company today - don’t you dare think of escaping!”
• Qi Yushi obediently attended the company meeting, so as to appease her agent who had worked so hard for her - from company training to future planning discussions, she listened until she felt giddy.
• Finally, it was over - Qi Yushi hurriedly scurried out and drove off to pick Yu Shanshan at the magazine company that she worked at before anyone could hold her back for whatever reason.
• Yu Shanshan did not see Qi Yushi when she came down - so the latter honked her car to alert her of her arrival, causing her roommate to jump and notice her.
• “Yushi, you disappear for one night and suddenly you have a new car? I thought you had been taken as somebody’s mistress - looking at your car now, I now know that’s not the case.”
• Qi Yushi giggled. “What do you mean?”
• “I mean, what kind of rich person would buy his mistress such a good car...Tell me honestly - did you strike the lottery?” Yu Shanshan asked, her face turning serious.
• “What, no - Shanshan, I’m going to tell you something important,” Qi Yushi struggled to think of a nice way to phrase the thing that she was about to tell her friend, before she gave up and revealed to her directly: “I got married.”
• Silence.
• Just then, Shanshan screeched: “What the heck, you actually disappeared for two days and went off to get married?? Qi Yushi, are you out of your mind! You’re a celebrity! How can you get married so easily! Have you even considered my feelings! We’ve been renting a place together for nearly three years, how can you not even tell me!”
• Qi Yushi covered her ears at Shanshan’s deafening screech. When her roommate had calmed down, she added: “Don’t get so worked up, it’s just a fake marriage built on a mutual agreement - I need him to help me get back my mother’s necklace, and he needs me to appease his family. We’re not in a real relationship, it’s only for six months - and then we’ll part ways.”
• As for that night...it was just an accident, forget about it.
• Qi Yushi then revealed to Shanshan about her relationship with Zhan Senyu.
• Yu Shanshan slapped her thigh when she finished. “What the heck, this is more absurd than a movie - forget about you that bastard Cen Ziming, you actually got yourself such an impressive man this time! Tell me his name, let me go do a background check.”
• Qi Yushi did not bother to hide it from Yu Shanshan - after all, there was no point, for her friend was a savvy reporter who could see right through her. “His name is Zhan Senyu.”
• Yu Shanshan was stunned.
• “What’s the matter?” Qi Yushi queried.
• “Isn’t...isn’t that the name of the heir of the L.N. Group? Zhan Senyu?”
• Qi Yushi nodded.
• Yu Shanshan sighed in relief. She then turned to Qi Yushi, telling her: “Did you know that Zhan Senyu is gay?”
• Qi Yushi widened her eyes.
• She was truly shocked.
• Aren’t gay men all like Danni, flamboyant and eccentric, always dressed animatedly and exuberantly - Zhan Senyu doesn’t fit the description at all! How could this be possible?
• Although Zhan Senyu is indeed kind of weird in terms of personality, I didn’t actually think that he would be gay?!
• But then again...that night...he was so masculine....
• “It can’t be...he doesn’t seem like it…”
• Seeing her look of disbelief, Yu Shanshan fished her tablet out of her bag and tapped on a file. She then showed it to Qi Yushi: “Look, these are some inside information about him from my company - I’m showing it especially to you.”
• The large file was full of pictorial and textual evidence.
• There was information about the secretaries of the President in the L.N. Group, from low-ranking ones to high ranking ones - all of them were male.
• There was a blurry picture that looked like it had been taken secretly - it was of a meeting, during the time when Zhan Senyu had been in England. Everyone in the picture had a beautiful, blonde woman in their arms - only Zhan Senyu was sitting beside a man.
• There was also a name list of the servants in Zhan Senyu’s mansion in England - there was not a single female, all of them were male!
• Seeing the appalled look on Qi Yushi’s face, Yu Shanshan added: “These information and pictures were provided to us by an anonymous source, we had already verified their authenticity. However, due to his tight security, we are unable to further investigate.”
• Qi Yushi was starting to believe this - after all, Zhan Senyu did not have a single female staff in his mansion in City A either!
• Maid Chen and Maid Zhang don’t count - he hired them because of me!
• “Are...are you guys going to publish this?”
• Yu Shanshan shook her head. “No, there’s no way we can even publish it - it’s impossible to publish anything that has to do with Zhan Senyu here. I’m just letting you know.”
• Qi Yushi heaved a sigh of relief - it’s good that the tabloids won’t be targeting him. After all, he seems like a good person - he doesn’t deserve this.
• Qi Yushi then treated Yu Shanshan to a Japanese dinner - she was distracted throughout the entire meal as she found her mind lingering back to what her roommate had revealed to her.
• After dinner, Qi Yushi sent Yu Shanshan back. She hesitated, before she told her roommate: “Shanshan, I can’t go back with you for the time being...the Zhan Family could come anytime, and I need to be there like I’d agreed with him. Don’t worry, I will continue to pay my share of the rent.”
• Yu Shanshan playfully knocked Qi Yushi’s forehead. “Alright, but know that you’re always welcome back here no matter what you may have agreed with him. Granny Gu won’t blame you, don’t be too hard on yourself. ”
• Feeling moved, Qi Yushi nodded, promising her friend.
• She did not leave immediately when Yu Shanshan had gone up - she sat there in the car, slightly dazed.
• Just then, her phone rang.
• She picked up the phone to hear an unknown voice on the other end. “I have some things to tell you about Zhan Senyu.”
• Qi Yushi felt as though she had been smacked in the face at his words - say what? “Who are you? How did you get my number? Who is Zhan Senyu to you?” she asked.
• The person chuckled rather sinisterly. “It’s not important for you to know who I am - I know that you and Zhan Senyu have gotten married. But there’s a lot more that you don’t know.”
• Qi Yushi felt her heart jump at his words.
• “Come to Night Wine Bar, and I’ll tell you everything - you have half an hour. Make sure to come alone, or you’ll regret it.”
• He then ended the call - as though he were certain that Qi Yushi would show up for sure.
• Qi Yushi tightened her grip on her phone. She hesitated, before turning the other way, driving her car towards the direction of the Night Wine Bar.
