Chapter 11 Is He Dating
- “Be confident in yourself! Okay, since you don’t have any experience, you can start by modeling for photoshoots.” Noelle picked up the name card on the table again, noting that the reporter’s name was Dom Lowe. “Dom, right? If there are any suitable opportunities, I’ll give you a call.”
- With that, Noelle offered him a genuine smile. Her smile was as bright as the sun, completely irresistible.
- Dominic approached her as he took the card from her hand. Glancing at it, an obscure smile appeared on his lips. He casually grabbed a pen from the table and wrote down a string of numbers at the bottom of the card.
- “Please call this number if you wish to find me,” Dominic pronounced calmly as he pushed the card back into Noelle’s hand.
- After sending Dominic off, Noelle felt as if a huge weight had been lifted off of her shoulders. Nevertheless, the man hadn’t even said or done anything. Thus, she couldn’t fathom why she was this nervous.
- At the bottom floor of Shining Entertainment, Clinton nervously opened the car door for Dominic.
- Dominic’s footsteps were light and his expression was relaxed, making it difficult for others to read him. However, the more unreadable he was, the more fearful Clinton became.
- He was the one who had done a poor job of handling Noelle. If he had forced her into agreeing to the demolition terms from the start, she would never have dared to act so brazenly. Now that Dominic had to personally step in to get this done, Clinton felt utterly ashamed of himself.
- “Mr. Pierce, has the matter been solved?” Clinton asked tentatively after Dominic boarded the car.
- “Mm.”
- “Indeed, you get things done, even when they seem impossible, Mr. Pierce.”
- “That street in the South district, don’t demolish it for now!”
- “What?” Clinton exclaimed in shock. Our posh, ruthlessly decisive, and all-powerful Mr. Pierce has stepped in to solve this matter!
- Nevertheless, how is this solving it? He obviously came to a compromise!
- And the whole street too!
- Oh my God. That woman Noelle Hooper is really something!
- “Do you have a problem with that?” Dominic asked.
- “Your decision is a wise one, Mr. Pierce! I completely support it!”
- “Mm!”
- The Maybach slowly drove away from Shining Entertainment. Dominic fished out his phone as he opened the video that he had recorded earlier. He didn’t turn on the sound, but he enjoyed watching it nonetheless. His usual downturned lips gradually curved into a barely-there smile.
- It was such a bizarre phenomenon that Clinton, who was driving beside him, couldn’t help but lean closer toward him a little to steal a peek at his phone, wondering what it was that could have possibly made the cold and distant Dominic Pierce break into such a gentle smile.
- “Eyes on the road!”
- Unfortunately, Clinton failed. Noticing his assistant’s prying eyes, Dominic turned off his phone as if protecting a precious gem, shooting a vicious glare at the other man.
- While Clinton was still making wild speculations, Dominic ordered him, “Give me your phone.”
- Clinton did as he was told. Dominic then opened his contacts and paused at Noelle’s name. After silently muttering her number, he returned the phone to Clinton.
- Strange. This is just too strange! As Clinton took back his phone, he seemed to have suddenly understood something.
- A week later.
- In a conference room at Pierce Group.
- The old city quarters in the South district were supposed to be demolished, but the boss had suddenly decided to convert it into a tourist spot. The designers who had already drafted the plan found this difficult to accept.
- Dominic was adamant as he ordered them to come up with a new plan within a week. The designers were dissatisfied but subdued by his imposing aura, making the atmosphere slightly tense.
- All of a sudden, the sound of a phone vibrating cut through the silence. Dominic pinched the space between his brows. “Whose phone is that?”
- There was a layer of frost over his face and everyone held their breaths in apprehension. However, that phone continued to vibrate, oblivious to its impending demise.
- “I’ve specifically said before that all phones must be muted during meetings...”
- “Mr. Pierce, it’s yours...” The secretary, John Louis, cautiously held up his phone.
- Dominic glanced at the unknown number as he immediately ignored it.
- “I’ve been to the old city quarters before...” The string of numbers suddenly flashed across Dominic’s mind as the realization soon dawned on him. Noelle Hooper! He abruptly recalled that it was her number, but his phone screen had already gone dark.
- As if a cat had got his tongue, his sentence was left hanging. This caused the designers to look at each other in puzzlement.
- When his phone vibrated a second time, Dominic immediately picked it up.
- “Hello?”
- “Hello? Is this Dom? This is Noelle Hooper.”
- “Yes, this is he.” The frost on Dominic’s face instantly melted as a warm curve formed on his lips.
- “Didn’t you want to give modeling a try? I coincidentally need to shoot a few posters this afternoon and I require a partner. Can you come?” Noelle enthusiastically invited him.
- “I...” He never expected her to have been serious about it. Unfortunately, Dominic wasn’t fond of taking photos and being interviewed; what more if it meant that he had to go on TV?
- “It starts at three-thirty. Remember not to be late. Also, take down the address. In the West district, at the second intersection of Tanners Street on Winsford Avenue, turn left...”
- “Okay. Could you repeat?” The address was a little complex. Dominic suddenly glanced at the secretary who was in charge of the meeting minutes, pointing at the notebook in his hand. The secretary instantly understood as he sat down to write all that Dominic had uttered.
- “In the West district, at the second intersection of Tanners Street on Winsford Avenue...” He repeated after Noelle in a serious manner, and the secretary meticulously noted it down.
- “It’s settled then! See you in the afternoon, Dom!”
- “See you!” He had inadvertently drawn the word out a little.
- Even after the call ended, the smile on Dominic remained in place. When he turned his attention back to his employees, he noticed that their eyes had widened in disbelief.
- Oh my God! Did Mr. Pierce actually say “see you” in such a sweet tone? Is he... dating?
- “I’ll give you another week, so that’s half a month. You’ll have to hand over the new plan by then. Are there any objections?” Dominic placed both hands on the table and asked in an overbearing manner.
- “No, Sir!” Everyone let out a sigh of relief when Dominic loosened the reins on them.
- Yeah, this is more humane. One week? That would’ve been asking for our lives!
- “Phones aren’t allowed to be answered during meetings. John, deduct my salary according to the penalty regulations!” Dominic instructed the secretary upon leaving.
- At half-past three in the afternoon, Dominic arrived at the address that was mentioned by Noelle.
- From a distance, Noelle, who was wearing light pink sportswear, waved at Dominic and ran over to him.
- “I thought that you weren’t coming.” Noelle gasped for air. Her bare face was fair and poreless, making her look delicate and charming. Her hair was tied into a simple ponytail which swayed slightly. The hairstyle revealed her smooth and high forehead, making her look like she was a university student.
- She looked behind Dominic and was a little bewildered. “Did you walk here? This place is hard to find though!”
- “What kind of photoshoot are we having today?” Clinton was the one who had sent him here, but Dominic had gotten off slightly ahead as he chased Clinton off. He didn’t like to lie, so he chose to entirely evade this topic.
- “Swimwear!” Noelle raised her brows gleefully. “This is your first shoot, so give it your best. You have such a good figure. When the posters are out, you’ll have female fans licking the screen in no time at all!”
- Noelle hadn’t received commercial shooting offers in a long time. This swimwear commercial photoshoot was offered to her thanks to the scandal with Dominic. Although it was only a commercial photoshoot, it was better than nothing.
- She had been at the bottom for such a long time, so she could only take things one step at a time.
- When she heard the commercial agency say that they hadn’t chosen a male model yet, the untalkative male reporter was the first person who came to her mind. Dom has broad shoulders, narrow hips, and long legs. He’ll look absolutely attractive wearing swimwear.
- Dominic frowned at the mention of this being a swimwear photoshoot.
