Chapter 8 She's Our Mate

• Milo’s Suite*
• "Why's Ashley in the castle?" Milo asked curiously as Dave gave him the news
• "She was invited by the alpha" Dave said and Milo chuckled
• "Does he lack trust that much?" Milo muttered
• "What should I do my prince?" Dave asked
• "Tell Dane to meet me up tonight" Milo replied
• "Yes my prince" Dave bowed and walked away.
• Milo sighed and sat down on the couch, his mind racing. He knew something was going on in the castle, and he didn't like it one bit. He felt like he was being left out of the loop, and he hated feeling powerless.
• He stood up and paced the room, his mind whirling with possibilities. Why was Ashley here? What was going on? And why wasn't he being told anything? He was the prince, for gods' sake!

• Castle Dungeon*
• Willow led Xander to the dungeon gate where Adella was, Whitney and Lightney are both standing at the door glaring at Adella who was sitting on the cold floor inside,her body covered with blood.
• The twins immediately rushed to Xander the moment they saw him
• "Beta......"
• Xander raised his finger up and they immediately kept quiet
• Xander looked at Adella,looking innocent even in her state,she was looking rough and unkept,he couldn't see her face since she was looking down,her hair falls on the floor also covering her face
• Xander's heart ached as he looked at Adella. She looked so small and fragile, huddled on the floor like a wounded animal. He couldn't bear the thought of her suffering like this.
• "Is she the one?" Xander asked
• "Yes Beta" Willow replied and Adella finally looked up and her eyes met with Willow’s own
• Xander shifted uncomfortably as he got lost staring into her bright innocent eyes,it's his first time seeing her face also
• Xander turned to Whitney
• "What happened exactly?" Xander asked,the young girl sitting down in there doesn't look like someone who can even hurt an ant
• "I was only trying to do my job" Whitney broke into tears
• "She wasn't eating,so we asked her why" Lightney continued
• "That was all....and the next thing,she shifted,growling at me,she almost bit me if the guards haven't appeared" Whitney said in tears
• Whitney's eyes flashed with anger. "She attacked Lightney," she said, her voice full of venom.
• "She attacked my sister, and we found her standing over her, covered in blood."
• Xander turned back to Adella
• "That....was a lie" Adella said in a weak voice
• "Are you okay?" Willow asked and immediately opened the gate he rushed in and his eyes widened when he saw her body cuts
• "Hey" he muttered
• "They did everything to me" Adella said in tears and Xander faced the twins
• "We were only defending ourselves!! You idiot!!" Whitney yelled
• "Get out" Xander said calmly
• "But....."
• "Get out!!!" Xander growled at them angrily and they ran off immediately
• "Beta" Willow called and Xander turned
• "I think it's Silver...she's dying" Willow said,checking Adella’s temperature,her eyes already closed
• "Call the healer.....Wait...Ashley is still in the castle. Take her to Ashley immediately" Xander ordered
• Willow immediately carried Adella in his arms and rushed out of the dungeon.
• Xander watched as Willow carried Adella out of the dungeon, his heart racing. He was worried about Adella, but he was also furious with Whitney and Lightney. How could they have done this? He knew Adella was innocent, and he couldn't believe that they had accused her of such a heinous crime.

• Night~Jade’s Suite*
• Adella opened her eyes slowly and met herself in a strange room,she was even laying on the bed,when did she ever slept on the bed.
• She quickly jumped down from the bed but bumped into a body
• She screamed and moved back immediately,making her fall on her butt
• Ashley stared st her disgustingly
• 'How can it be a weak pup like her?' She said in her head,still glaring At Adella,she started walking closer to her while Adella trembled in fear,she didn't even notice that her cuts has been healed up
• "Hey little one" Ashley squatted in front of her and grabbed her cheek
• Adella swallowed hard
• "You must have suffered so much" Ashley muttered and shook her head
• Adella stared at Ashley, frozen with fear. She had no idea what was going on or why she was here, but she was afraid of this strange girl. Something about her felt off, and she couldn't shake the feeling that she was in danger.
• Ashley smiled, but it wasn't a friendly smile. It was a smile that sent chills down Adella's spine.
• "You're a special little girl, aren't you?" she said, her voice sickly sweet.
• Adella's heart was pounding, and she felt like she might pass out. "I...I don't know what you're talking
• "But you know what? You don't belong here. You should return to your people" Ashley said and Adella nodded
• "Good,get up" Ashley stood up and Adella also got up
• "Leave the castle right away...and make sure no one sees you,do you get that?" Ashley asked
• "Thank you for healing my cut" Adella bowed and Ashley smiled
• "It's nothing,now go" she said
• Adella didn't wait,she opened the door and rushed out of the room
• Ashley rolled her eyes
• 'He can't find you..never' She said inwardly.
• Adella ran through the castle halls, her heart still pounding. She had no idea what had just happened, but she was sure of one thing: she needed to get out of here, and fast.
• As she raced down the stairs, she passed a few people, but she kept her head down, not wanting to be noticed. She had to get away from this place before something bad happened.
• Finally, she reached the front door and pushed it open, breathing a sigh of relief as she stepped outside. The fresh air felt good on her face, and she looked around, wondering where to go next.
• **
• Alpha’s Chamber*
• Alpha Orion sat up on his bed,it's just like the other night,he can't sleep.
• He sighed out and linked up with one of the guards watching his chamber
• *Yes Alpha?!*
• *Get Xander,right now* Alpha Orion ordered and cut the link back
• It's been a while since they had a run like Xander said,maybe tonight is going to be the night.
• He went into the dressing room and got on something simple before returning to the bedroom where he met Xander already waiting
• "You called for me" Xander said
• "I can't sleep" Orion said
• "Do you want anything then?" Xander immediately asked
• "Let's go for a run" Orion said and Xander smiled
• "That will be great" He said and Orion nodded
• Minutes later,they are outside the castle,each on their separate horses,numbers of guards also behind them.
• "To the woods" Alpha Orion muttered
• "The woods" Xander said more loudly so everyone would hear
• Alpha Orion took off first,Xander followed and the guards followed too.
• **
• In The Woods*
• Alpha Orion and Xander both got down from their horses
• Orion could feel Asher waggling it's tail already,of course he's always happy about things like this.
• "Ready?" Alpha Orion asked and Xander nodded
• Almost immediately,the two men began to shift,the sounds of their cracking bones could be heard,as everything separated and joined together again,forming their wolves.
• Asher was the first to shift fully,as it stood heavily on the ground,his grey color shone and he made a loud and deep howl all over the wood
• The guards all bowed immediately
• Kian stood beside him too,the two wolves waggled their tails together in excitement as the run was about to start.
• After brain counting the tick tock of the time,the two wolves sped off. Their legs sounding heavily on the ground,the birds in the woods trembled and kept flying around for shield.
• The guards followed behind them too,they already shifted also,the soil was weeping at the pace and sounds of their foots on the ground,their growls and howls filled the air and the woods seems to be in trouble,other small animals run for their dear lives,they wouldn't want to wait or they might turn into preys
• **
• Adella was still running,she seems to have lost her way in the woods as she tried getting the road which leads to the meadow but she couldn't.
• Suddenly some herd of deer started running toward her,before she could run,they bumped into her and she fell on the ground,struggling there as they all fly over her,running for their lives.
• "What's going on?" Adella muttered but she also heard the loud growl which made her eyes widen
• "Pack of Wolves...or rogues??" She mumbled in fear and began running too but it was too late,she sighted the first two big wolves aiming toward her and she screamed out
• The scream got Asher and Kian to stop,their bright eyes looked around the wood to see what it was until they landed on Adella who already fell on the ground unconsciously.
• Almost immediately Asher’s furs arose,the human's sweet scent filled his nose even though she was covered with dirt all over her,it smelled sweet in his nose.
• “Mate”He growled out loudly
• Xander took over Kian and shifted back to human
• Orion was trying hard to take over his body but Asher disagreed
• “She's our mate!!!”he growled
• His loud growls made everyone bow,including Xander
• “Shut up and lay low!” Orion yelled at him
• “Get our mate back to the castle! Now!”Asher growled back.
