Chapter 74: Content – Part l
- He couldn't take his gaze away from the raven-haired woman sleeping peacefully beside him. Her raven black hair was strewn across his chest and bedsheet. Her arms were wrapped around his waist, her naked breast pressed up against his sides, and she had a red proud mark on her neck. She was his in this life and the next, if there are any. The female who had been living rent-free in his head for months was now his. His gift from the moon. Nothing but death can now separate them; hell, he wouldn't even let death take her away from him. She was the air he inhaled, the warmth he basked in, and the drink that quenched his thirst. She was his, entire being, mind, body, and soul. And he would risk his life to protect her.
- Onyx lowered his gaze to have a closer look at her. Her smooth full lips opened, a little puffy from the night before but still oh so alluring. Strands of hair were falling over her face, yet she looked appealing owing to the vulnerability he sensed from it. Her skin had a wonderful burnished hue and was covered with love bites that boldly bore his imprint. Goddess, did he feel blessed!
- He raised a hand and gently pushed her hair away from her face with his knuckles. He winced as his flesh brushed up against her cheek from the surge of shocks he was feeling. When those exquisite slate blues appeared, he felt his own body heat rise like sparks from an ignition. She seemed drowsy, with sleep written all over her face as she blinked slowly and merely gazed. A smile grew over her face, almost as if the Goddess above felt the urge to drive him down on his knees and down the road of love. Her smile was never the same; it always conveyed a sense of belonging, warmth, and her smile felt like home. Every time they were thrown his way, her smile made his heart skip a beat.
